10th days accutane . UPDATE [accutane] [begining]

Well, today is my 10th day Accutane. So far I have broken out more than usual. My face is oily, more than usual. Yesterday, my body started to itch and I still feel itchy. My eyes are dry. But its not bad. My saclp is dry, which never has been. I also already ChapStick fr days and my lips arenreally that jumped, but I can make a difference . are probably just the beginning communication. Just thought Id update everyone. If anyone cares! Reply:Unless you weigh 90 lbs that is low, trying asking your derm if he or she is going to raise it up when you get ure refill. 10mg or 20mg is a maintenance dosage like for when ure are in your last month and the derm extended it for 2 more weeks .

Reply:10mg a day sounds very low to me too. I'm on 40mg Monday through Friday and 40mg 2x/day on Saturday and Sunday.

Reply:Yes 10mg is way to low, do you mean 10mg twice a day thats 20mg a day thats a little low.I don't have bad acne just flare ups and I'm taking 40 a day..
Aquaphor is all I need for my dry skin and lips thats it.

Jeca: I take 80mg a day. My acne honestly isn't that bad compared to what I have seen on other people & i take 80mg. I think how many mg's you take goies by height & weight. Some derms just also don't like giving high dosages I think

Reply:Hi, I'm on my 2nd month of accutane, only 10mg a day. I have a huge cyst near my neck, before I started the treatment, and it's still there now! I am just wondering if the dosage given to me is too low….

Reply:guy if your face is to oily its probably beacuse your applying to much lotion then you really have to. I notice that my face doesn't get really dry. My upper back is probably more dry then my face. It sucks bc when you dont need all that lotion your face is extra shiny especially if you sweat a little.

Reply:guy & trinthy: This is why I love this board. I got the aquaphor before I even started accutane. I also have cetaphill lotion. I also take vitamin e. Any other great suggestions?? Maybe a suggestion on what vitamins i can take while on accutane.

Reply:Aquaphor, is a godsend it work amazing. On both your lips and face I'm not flaky at all.
And I've been on it almost two weeks as well and it is def working.

Reply:You're probably counting every pill and every day right now (I know I was) but soon time will start flying and you will be thru before you know it.

Oh yeah, get aquaphor for your lips!!

Reply:Hmm never tried accutane before, but before people start to clear up to there best they usually break out big. Thats what happened to me about 2 weeks down the road when I started on Proactiv, and now things are a lot better. Things aren't totally clear, but its a lot better than what it was when I wasn't using anything.

Anyway just stick with it for maybe a week or a bit more and see how things go, you'll probably start clearing up eventually.
