Okay, so look what I just learned the other day .
After my weird break out back in the middle of January, my dermotologist prescribed Duac Gel (which Benzoyal Peroxide, I am sure everyone knows now . but just incase) for my cystic acne.
Well my boyfriend (school, which is the main Biochem) starts reading the label on the Duac Gel, and starts laughing. I ask him whats so funny, and he begins to explain that in his lab classes, she Benzoyal Peroxide used as explosive! : Eek:
He explained to me that the same chemicals you find in the fireworks! You know those little ones that we all used to play when we were young? You slam them on the ground, and they light up and pop . Oh yeah . thats what weve been all put on our faces . : Eek:
How terrible is that? Is not that just sound so toxic? On our bad skin . Uggghhh . This may not be good for us in the long term?
Im sorry if I upset some people (I know there are many people out there who are pro benzoyal peroxide) but I just felt it was something I had to tell everyone . : Wave:
Reply:Benzoyal peroxide is awesome at eliminating acne, and if it was approved by the FDA, it's good enough for me. My face hasn't exploded, my skin looks clear and healthy, so I'm not upset…
Reply:There's sodium in some types of missiles. The same sodium we use in our toothpaste. It's not a big deal =P
