I know you hear to avoid for a while on Accutane vitamin, but I take a daily multivitamin with vitamin A, and lets face it food that you eat during the day, vitamin A, so youre really expected to eliminate vitamin A ?
Best Answer: The key to the answer is in your question: "accutane is a high dose of vitamin a". And, in fact, high doses of Vit A cause marked shedding of the skin and the associated structures. Thus, if you were to take a very high dose of Vit A, your skin would turn a bright red, and you'd start shedding skin, hair, nails. The advantage of Accutane is that it, more often than not, gives the beneficial effects of high dose Vit A without the unwanted side effects. However, there are some people who also see some of the unwanted side effects, such as hair thinning.
Reply:I know its impossible to completly negate yourself from Vitamin A. If i were you i would just keep away from Multi-vitamin Supplement that contains Vitamin A.
hope that helps.

Reply:thanks, but your telling me you don't take in any vitamin A? i think its near impossible.
Reply:Hey,
Im also taking Accutane, and i think you should avoid Vitamin A altogether. Your basically overdozing yourself with vitamin A when taking Accutane. And adding more to your system is not a good idea. My doctor have treated over 1000 Accutane patients, and he strongly said to not take any vitamin A vitamins, even if its from a multi-vitamin supplements like you said. Just check other peoples journals, or better yet go to an Accutane message board and you'see what im talking about.
Good luck with the treatment
