Im on accutane for a month and 1 week, and at first my skin was like peeling off, although not always dry, and now its really pink and it looks blotchy / discolored. Its really gross. And my face has cleared up, but I still have red spots that will not go away. Im more concerned about the blotchyness though. Is it ruined my skin? I also only 40mg, but my skin is not dry at all, is that weird? Thank you.
Reply:MY derm recommended I go on accutane and my skin is only mild/moderate.
I am talking to the derm tommorow about it, I am so scared about getting permanenet red face or something extreme.
I was wondering if anyone knew if Accutane gets rid of blackheads on and around your nose?
Reply:i haven't been on accutane yet but your right i would think your skin would be dry…and 40mg seems to be the norm to start…..are you using any other products? soaps? lotions? i hope your doctor will help you, i understand some doctors can be "retarded" and i am surprised he put you on accutane for mild acne, may i ask how old you are? age might even make a difference…
Reply:mild. 40mg isn't that high of a dose is it? I'm 5'5 and prob like 105lbs. I have an appointment w/my doc in 2 weeks so I guess I'll just ask him. He's pretty retarded though so he prob won't know whats goin on. I can tell my skin is really sensitive now, but I never go outside with out spf58 so it shouldn't look blotchy. It looks like way tan. It's weird. I can't really explain it. I don't know why my skin wouldn't be dry though, cuz my hair is super dry. It's like shiny and smooth.

Reply:When I was on accutane my hair got thinner and my skin was a wreck. Came to find out my prescription was much too strong. Talk to your DR again and find out whats going on. You should experience some skin drying but nothing should be flaking off.
Reply:how severe was your acne before you started accutane? i think it makes your skin much more sensitive, so that is probably why, i wouldn't wory too much, but you could bring it up at your next derm. apiontment, take care
