Ricky, sorry I didn't see your response until now, but I forgot to check back. I have found many postings regarding the same problems with dental problems and accutane and can only think that there must be some substance to the concerns. One common thread I see is that all of the postings describe EXTENSIVE and unexplainable dental problems. It is very frustrating to go to these dental specialists and they look at me like I'm crazy, yet they are unable to provide any explanation, not even a guess. Also, I was always taken to the dentist regularly as a child/teen when this problem first started and when I was on accutane. I finished my first round of specialists by the end of summer and was given an estimate of $60k to restore my mouth. I have went for a second opinion and will find out his recommendations tomorrow.

I can only imagine how frustrated your wife is while dealing with all of these same things and wish her only the best of luck with resolving the problem.

Erin & previous post person accutane does destroy the enamel on your teeth. My wife needs thousands of dollards worth of work done due to the Exact! same thing as Erin. My wife doesn't want to talk to a lawyer or anything, but I really think we all should be talking. If you have taken accutane and now have enamel wear issues please contact me and I will try to put something together. My email is cifjr@cmsinter.net Thanks Ricky!

I was on accutane 16 years ago and until today had not connected the horrible drug with dental problems. I now need $35k+ worth of dental work done due to enamel errosion that no one can explain. I have been to (2) pathologists, periodontist, endodontist, maxofacial specialist, and had two procedures with gastrointestinal physicians to attempt to determine the cause of my enamel errosion. Not a single doctor has been able to determine the cause of this problem and they are all saying the wear, tear, and errosion is even out of pattern that doesn't fit any explanation. I think maybe I just figured out the answer and now that I think back, my teeth health has drastically changed since being on Accutane.
