Hi everyone!
I have acne-prone skin since I was a young teenager and now I have some scare on my cheeks and chin. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to lighten them or even get rid of them what?
Thanks in advance! : Wave:
Reply:Microdermabrasion or smoothbeam….both at a dermatologists office. They are really great. Micro runs about $50 and smoothbeam is $350 if not under insurance. Both are well worth it though and not only reduce appearance of scars but smooth out skin.
Reply:Start using something with Glycolic Acid in it. I have found Neutrogena Healthy Skin Lotion to be helpful in lightening dark marks. Right now, my marks seem to be improving, and I can tell you what I am doing:
1. Professional Microderms ever two weeks (have had 4)
2. Neutrogena Healthy Skin Lotion with SPF 15 (in the day)
3. Black Opal Essential fade complex (has Hydroquinone and Retinol)
4. I wash with Dove Gentle Exfoliating Bar in the morning and night.
This seems to be helping the marks. I am Indian so have a medium skin tone. If you are fair, microderms alone help a lot with spots.
Reply:If you've ever had a chemical treatment on your hair such as a permanent colour or bleach, the hairdresser or someone in the salon will have (should have!!) completed a skin test to check you're not allergic first. Obviously, this is more to cover the salon than anything, but it is also in your best interest as an allergic reaction can be very very bad and possibly cause a serious infection.
With that in mind, if it were me in your position, i would go ask a chemist, pharmacist, doctor or dermatologist about getting rid scars before putting anything on my skin… Good luck!
Reply:Well, i dont give good advice but try maybe using a bleaching agent to help lighten them. Make sure u arent allergic to any of the ingriedients first. i tried bleaching and it helped some( not just with acne marks). i used soemthing called dr. varons skin bleaching system. If its a deep scar, try using a simple scar cream or lemon peel. anything citric can help i heard. goodluck.
