After Accutane with no birth control . [birth control pills] [bad acne]

: Confused: Hi,

A years ago I stopped taking the pill and I broke really bad. I had very bad acne on my back, chest, neck and face. When I was on the pill, I had some but not bad.

Two months ago I started Accutane, and it works very well. My derm had me restart my pills while on Accutane.

I am wondering if anyone had this experience? Im afraid if I stop Accutane and birth control pills, which I will break out again (due to lack of birth control) or Accutane will occur even if I stopped using it.

i really hate taking birth control and would like to stop…instead get an iud or something…
im just about to finish accutane and at some point would like to go off birth control but am scared that i will break out horribly again and then feel like accutane was a waste…
is there ANYONE who has been on accutane and then stopped birth control a short time afterward? please let us know your experiences…

Reply:Accutane is soposed to be a long term solution to acne. I also started breaking out really bad after I stopped birth control. I've had a tubal and I'm on my 4th month of accutane. It's working really well and I'm really happy with it.
