Ask for Sahuja1 [bloodwork] [spiro]

Hi, I saw you at Spiro. I too am on it and its now over a year with great results. My question is, how long have you been on and get your blood test done on a regular basis. I hate taking medication for acne, but it helps my hormonal cystic acne and want to know if women are to be for a long time. I understand that it is relatively safe, but I am also concerned. Any info would be great.

I have been on Spiro for almost 9 months on an average of 100mg per day . (I forget to take it sometimes!) My derm makes me get bloodwork done every few months. I got it done like 2 months after I started and 4 months after that. At the beginning I had terrible headaches and exhaustion from it but that went away. My derm says its safe to take for long periods, unless you are planning to get pregnant, (could have a negative effect on child.) It has thrown around my menstrual cycle though. For the last two months, my cycle has been a few days late. (My cycle used to be religiously on time.) It really doesnt bother me though.
