Azelex acid works! [azelex] [spiro]

I have been on acid Azelex (20%) for about 2 months now and my skin is completely clear! Im also on 75 mg. Spiro / day, but still had pimples. The Azelex is so soft and it has all my numbers shown in the past breakouts are completely gone! I even have some brown spots / freck. on my cheeks and have them disappear as someone who has taken well.
Has topicle this medicine? I have not heard much about this post.
If someone else has these results, please reply!
Thank you!

Ok here's the chemistry lesson…nothing really that scientific..

I just squirt the pea size of the retin A on my fingertip(as usual), then add a pea size amount of the Finacea to the retin A pea and apply it. It spreads quite nicely.

OR: I just apply the Finacea first, let that soak in, then apply the retin A like 5 minutes later. Either way is effective. Hope that answers your question! :)

Reply:also.. deedee.. thanks for your help but.. does the Azelex get mixed with your retin a micro tube or do you get an entirely seperate tube and just mix them in yourself.

Reply:thanks for the help… going to ask my derm tomorrow

Reply:To guy,

You can certainly inquire from your derm if Azelex can be added to your Differin. I asked my derm about why she chose Retin A over Differin for me, and she told me that Retin A was stronger(I guess more geared at my cyst formations). Therefore if Retin A can be used with Azelex and Differin is not as strong as Retin A, it may be worth looking into if you can combine them, or if you are a candidate to benefit from the use of Azelex.
I just think my skin is happy that I am giving it something entirely different than I have used in the past 28 years against this awful acne nightmare.

Good luck to you, guy, in whatever you try.

Reply:To answer guy,
The acne I have would be considered mild(used to be mild-moderate), limited primarily to 1 or 2 cysts that pop up montly and most usually on the jawline, cheeks are clear, forehead and chin clear, just this jawline problem, and the red marks from previous acne still healing.

To answer guy:

My suggestion is to NOT combine BP or salicylic acid OTC acne preparations with ANY prescription topicals. Severe overload of product, and irritation, aggravation, and the risk of more break outs is increased. Anyone can tell you that a gentle cleanser is imperative when using prescrition topicals. Hope this info is helpful guys.

Reply:deedee…since you are adding it to your retin a micro.. i was wondering do you think i could add it to my differin since they are similar products.. also how much doe Azelex cost on an average insurance plan… i am hearing great stuff i just want to try it out now.

Reply:is it okay to use other topical non-prescrition treatments in conjunction with azelex? such as salycilic acid or BP? will that help or just irritate the skin? anyone have any input? oh, and i also use nature's cure, would i still be able to use that if i start taking azelex? thanks for any input.

Reply:DeeDee-
What type of skin/acne do you have? I am not really that oily and I have mild/moderate acne depending on which day it is. Mostly the small bumps/small zits in the forehead/temple area and also on the jaw/chin area. A couple larger pimples on the chin around my time of the month.

Reply:I sing high praises for this medication!! I too am only using it for 5 days but OMG!! Such a difference in the red marks…..It's incredible.

The one I am using is called Finacea which is a 15 % amount of the a.acid. Did sting the first 2 nights, but now does not. I am using it 2x a day. My evening dose I was told to add it to my Retin a Micro, and smooth it on. I really, really like this stuff! Yeah, not much has been said on it, but I am hear to spread the word..it's awesome! :bouncing:

Reply:Ya, it will tingle for a little bit when you first start using it ,That is because your face is in an extremely sensitive state from all the past harsh chemicals you used on it.But if you stick with this and use ONLY the Azelaic on your face and nothing else, your skin will gradually get less sensitive and and in a better condition and it won't tingle at all.

Reply:I'm so glad to read the rave reviews on Azelex. I've tried BP, Differin, and most recently Retin A Micro without much success. If anything it made me red, irritated and worse than when I started. I've only used the Azelex for 3 days now and the first night it burned pretty bad so after about 20 minutes I had to rinse it off. But last night, it only tingled for a bit. I have alot of small bumps on my forehead and temple area and a few zits on my chin. I'm hoping in a few weeks I will be joining you guys in giving it the 2 thumbs up.

Reply:Azelex acid (20%) (Skinoren) is THE BEST! Combined with Spiro and you live happily ever after. :)
Its true about it fading the redmarks. It just puts your face in top notch acne fighting state without drying your face.I would never go without it.

Reply:I am also using Azelex and I love it. It really gets rid of the marks left by pimples and the few pimples I have been getting lately have not been leaving the marks. A lot of people here refer to it as Skinoren (I think it is the generic). I am so glad you are having success with it too!
