B pill what works best for acne? [birth control pill] [acne]

Im looking to go on the pill to help with my acne. Can you recommend a brand that has helped you?

Reply:i've had a good response to yasmin. i also liked ortho novum 7-7-7. ortho tricyclen made me sick to my stomach all the time, and ortho evra (the patch) gave me ginormous cysts, as well as a sticky, icky black ring and a scaly patch where it was. i wouldn't recommend that to anyone!

Reply:Both responses are very helpful. Thanks

Reply:If you think your acne is hormonal, Ortho Tri-cyclen and Desogen both have anti-androgenic (testosterone-binding) properties, which can help a lot. I've tried OTC and it didn't work at all for me (maybe it made it worse) but I'm on Desogen now and I love it. My skin looks a lot better and my periods are SOOO light. Yasmin is also good – it has a light dose of spironolactone, which effects potassium levels and stuff. I've never tried it but apparently it's been really good for other people. Hope this helps :) Good luck :)

Reply:Diane 35 is handsdown the best. Within 6 weeks my skin cleared up, wasn't oily anymore, my hair looked great too because my scalp wasn't oily anymore. However, I had some side effect with it…because of the dosage, I was spotting all month long! I waited to see if it would adjust after the first 3 months but it was the same so after 5 months I stopped….otherwise, there's OrthoCept that worked really well for me.
