Ive been putting cream BP (2.5%) on my face every night, and then oil-free moisturizer after it dries, but I notice that after a few days, my skin starts to get red and start to peel in some places . Would still be effective if I applied the cream at night, but then carefully rinsed after about half hour? (And then applied oil-free moisturizer) . I think if I like this, my skin gets so irritated . but I just want to get some opinions on whether they are still effective in preventing acne.
Reply:According to my dermotologist, peeling is actually a sign of healing & you do NOT want to moisturize over it. Peeling means that the BP is working and that it is helping to improve your skin turnover rate and, subsequently, diminish break-outs.
Now, there is a difference between drying and peeling. So if you really mean peeling, then you need to let it take its course.
