bumps on my arms. : P [little red bumps] [loofa]

I have a bunchhh of small red bumps on the back of my arms . ive had always I know they are hereditary because my mother has them as well . my brother and has a mild case . I know I as a result of only one really large pores that attract tons of dirt and oil, but I either daily scrub them with a shower brush, a loofah, a washcloth, etc. and they will mostly go away for a short time [not completely], but then come back. ive tried all different kinds of lotions, scrubs, cleaners and I can only but so far with this. Does anyone have any suggestions? thanksss.

Reply:Its keratosis pilaris and boy is it stubborn. Mine was actually triggered by accutane, it developed as a result of having dry skin for so long. I have tried moisturizing and everything and nothing worked but i read a thread on here about a product called Aqua Glycolic and decided to order it because it was the only thing thus far that anyone had said it actually worked for them and its from a pharmaceutical company so i figured it was legit. It was like 27 dollars for body wash and lotion if you look the site up. Ive only been using it for about less than a week and it isnt gone yet but more and more of the bumps disappear every day and my skin gets much smoother… worth a shot:-)

Reply:Hi,

I have Keratosis Pillaris also, this is what it sounds like you have. My Derm gave me a RX for Salex lotion. It seems to work, but if I stop using it, it comes back. I have it on my legs also. My mom and daughter also have it – yes it's hereditary.
I've never tried anythig over the counter, so I don't have any other suggestions.

Reply:It sounds like Keratosis Pillaris. My BF has the same thing. Try researching it and see what might help, perhaps you can go to the pharmacy and see what they recommend or make an appointment with the dermatologist.

Reply:Try something with a high percentage of AHA. I like Alpha Hydrox 12% AHA Souffle but I use it for red marks and blemishes, don't know if it helps those bumps. But I believe a good AHA product is the way to go.
