Can boys get induced hormonal acne? [birth control pills] [hormones]

I was wondering, can guys get induced hormonal acne? I know that woman can be, and can be prescribed birth control pills to control, so was wondering if there is anything men can take their hormones to regulate .

Reply:Spironolacton is a diuretic and before it was used to treat hyperandrogenism (by blocking the androgen receptor mainly) it was used to treat high blood pressure. Therefore yes, both men and women can safely use this drug, but males may not like the side effects of it's accidental androgen blocking abilities. According to those males on here that have tried this, males respond very strongly to this drug and as such require 25mg – 100mg in order to be clear.

Reply:There is this antibiotic called spironoctane(sp?) but just ask your derm. about spiro. It is made for a woman but there were certain posts before that it helped out some males. I would like to know about this also …

Don't think its actually an antibiotic, which is a good thing because you can't get resistyant to it, but I've found some more info. about it here:
