Ok, Im going to get one of these two creams to apply in the mornings. Can anyone tell me what are the texture of these topicals? Is a clear gel?

Reply:I totally agree with you kimrick, benzaclin definitely takes away the redness from pimples. I've been using it for about 5 months now, I apply it at night because it tightens my face and dries me out a bit. But it works great and I'm satisfied with the results i've gotten, I reccomend it.

Reply:I've been using Benzaclin for about 2 1/2 months now and I think it's great!!! It takes away ALOT of the redness from those annoying pimples!!

Reply:Benzaclin is the only thing that works for me. The texture is creamy, and it's not clear. It'll dry white if you put too much on. Good Luck!

Reply:My kids prefer the texture of Benzaclin but I just bought Benzamycin because that's what the insurance covers. They also think Benzaclin works better.

Reply:I've used benzamycin and it really dries out your skin super crazy =(… i never found much sucess with it, and it's very expensive…. then again i've never had much sucess with my acne when i went to the doctors, … stupid doctor!!!$!@$$

i hope it works for you, goodluck.

Reply:They are clear when applied…Really made my face taught looking when I would apply it..So you really need a good moisturizer…How are you doing on the Retin-A now?? I am still battling the ugly breakouts…On it for two weeks today…

Ok . So Im finally deciding to go to a derm to find a way to blackheads outta my pores. I hear a lot about Accutane and Retin-A. Im not really that much pimples. Only the black and whiteheads. Which of the two rules that would best help the problem?

Reply:Retin-A-Micro Gel helps with blackheads even more than Retin-A.

Reply:Accutane kills the bacteria that cause clogged pores to become inflamed, and retinols help prevent them from clogging. If your blackheads are just blackheads and aren't inflamed, Accutane won't do anything for you, so I'd go with the Retin-A.

Reply:Retin A or Retin Micro would probably help u best. Accutane is more generally used for people with moderate to severe acne. I starting breaking out when I was around 11 or 12, and by the time I was 21, it was getting worse. I used accutane for about about 6 or 7 months, and have been break out free and I am 26 now. I would recommend the Retin-A first though. Some people have good experiences with that alone.

Good luck

Reply:Clearasil's Scar Care system has really been helping reduce the redness of my marks and it also moisturizes wonderfully so my skin isn't left dry. You may want to give it a try!

I am much worse than before I Tazorac. My face is very bumpy now – sooner rather smooth, but now it is so bumpy. Im starting to break near my jaw line more and more. My face just looks worse.

I thought it would be an improvement in the month, but it is not – AT ALL. Im really becoming frustrated. Does anyone have any positive stories that convince me that the stuff would actually work?

Reply:My only experience with Tazorac was with my oldest daughter who suffers with eczema on her scalp. HOWEVER! I will offer a bit of GOOD ADVICE to you for any kind of skin problem – WATER WATER WATER!

Drink as much water as you can stand, more than what you usually drink; it is the golden cure for most skin problems and especially if you are using a prescription medication that has the tendency to bring toxins out of your system and onto your skin! I have trained my daughters to do this all of their three little lives because we are of irish / german descent and have very sensitive skin.

Also some prescription warning labels will tell you to stay out of direct sunlight while using them and I believe Tazorac is one of them. I also believe that Bactrim is another. The UV rays from the sun will cause further bumps and break-out and can even make your skin very red, very quickly.

Hope this helps and try increasing your water intake!

Belle

Reply:So, my skin should start to improve in a little bit by then? I'm hoping, because I have swimming in gym in 4 weeks…

Reply:As much as it sucks and this is not what you want to hear, the Taz just takes time. I have been on it for a little over 2 months, and I promise you it gets better. Tazorac works by bringing everything to the surface. The first month, my skin was HORRIBLE… I know how frustrated you feel. Please just know that you can make it through the tough initial month, and only good things are on the other side. Taz (taken with minocycline) has made my skin very soft, and I only get pimples occasionally, where before I had moderate acne. Hang in there, and know that this just takes time but is worth it. Good luck!

I use a clean and clear for about 2 weeks now and it really has not done a thing for me, my face actually broke out a small lake with only small white heads here and there, but exactly the same as before, I know it pushes white heads on your skin and cleans it so im going to give it 2 weeks and see where im at. I bought the industrial strength fourmula acne, and my routine is to wash my face with soap in the morning and then I was the night is over with the soap of fourmula, or as instructed soap and then I shave. my face is dry to the touch after so I bought the moisturizer. GESS it does not work for everyone but I will keep you informed.

Reply:I used to always use clean & clear, but last year I started breaking out really bad, with mostly whiteheads and cysts, so i changed my diet, with no effect, I started using proactiv, which broke me out more, and I had no idea what caused it in the first place. I decided to stop my daily regimen, and just use Dove to wash my face, then used a cotton ball with alcohol and just went over my problem areas. My skin cleared out within a week, but for those monthly breakouts, I decided to use the clean & clear face wash, and the next day I had whiteheads and cysts again.

I researched and found out that the SA 2% that was in the clean & clear brought the bacteria in pimples to the surface (whiteheads) but the BP 10% killed the bacteria. (most people use the BP while washing with a SA wash) I now just use the Dove soap twice a day, use a cotton ball with 50% alcohol at night, and use clearasil tinted 10% BP every other day. My skin hasn't been this clear in 2 weeks, and it gets better every day.

Reply:I love their bha pads. Got rid of the blackheads on my nose.

Reply:I had the same results as you…I stopped using this product 2 days ago and I had been on it for about 5 weeks or so…my face seemed to have gotten worse while I used it and I too had the industrial strength. I have stopped using the scrub and now I'm just using the soap and some Clean and Clear scrub that usually works for me so we'll see how this goes…
Even the Jojoba oil. I can not believe that it is almost 10 weeks on the pill and I m still breaking out. I go for about 1 week and think things are clearing and then I start to break out again.

Hope success.

L you better:)

Reply:Laur,
Today was my 4th day on Yasmin and my appetite is raging! It is unbeliavable! I have been on a diet for two days because I cannot afford to gain any weight since I am recovering from an eating disorder and have to maintain my weight. If this goes on like this, I don't think I can continue dieting and trying to control hunger. I never had this problem with any other BCPs. I am considering switching to Ortho Tri. which I had no problems with. It even controlled my break-outs. I will try to give Yasmin more time but I don't think I can deal with constantly starving all the time.
My skin is much better though. It can't be Yasmin though, so it is the combination of Tazorac (1 minute) and maybe the jojoba oil.
I think that as long as you are on a low-dose BCP, you will have skin benefits. Most of the anti-androgenic claims of Yasmin is theoretical, there are no shown differences in terms of clearing acne between Yasmin and other low dose pills. So don't think it is your only option. I've taken several BCPs, if you need advise on which on to pick, let me know.

Reply:I so sorry to hear that things are not going well for you. I actually am pretty happy with the Yasmin. My face is much better. It seems like I only break out the week I am on those fake pills, and even that has just been one or two things. Right now I am doing the jojoba oil/CP serum thing and I am pretty happy with it. My face has not been this soft in years. I also do Q H Mint Julep mask a couple times a week. And that is about it. All things considered, I am really happy with Yasmin. I just hope it continues and doesn't quit working like other things do (fingers crossed). I hope you find something that works for you.
Does anyone have any comments on any products I could use at the same time to help?

I hope I have some answers . lol I never seem to get much.

Reply:Thanks..Actually my derm gave me some. I am on Zithromax once a day for a month, then every other day until It eventually reduces til once a week. I take the Acidophilus once a morning.

Reply:Hey, just a recomendation on Zithromax. Um, 250 mg daily for a month? That does sound a bit too much… But anyway. I would recomend you buy a pro Biotic Acidophilus. See, in your intestines, their is something called 'good bacteria' These things help break down the food you eat.
Zithromax pretty much kills all of this good bacteria. You might notice that you have stomach problems, or feel sick sometimes for no real reason. It's because your body can't break down the food you are eating.
I know, I was on Zithromax for two months before I finally said no more.

Anyway, you can buy Acidophilus at most health food stores, but get a good kind. Make sure that the pills say they are delivered to the intestines, because most of the supplements out there are actually killed by your stomach acid. Doing you no good at all.
The next time you see your doctor, as them about this.

Reply:Day 12- Bad day yesterday, broke out on my chin with about 4 or 5 zits. I began to wonder about the AHA lotion I was using & I found out that it had oil in it so I am guessing it broke me out. Overall complexion is good though. Zithromax really helps clear up breakouts though.

Reply:Day 8- I think I am having a little initial breakout. It may be from the Retin A. or the AHA I started. I have a few new active zits on my cheek where I never get zits but they are really small. My comedones are slowly reducing in numbers.

Well no one really has responded to this so I might just stop the journal, but I am wondering of a good Moisturizer to use in the mourning?

Reply:Day 6- A few active zits. The Retin A micro has kind of a burning sensation but amazingly it isn't drying me out nearly as bad as differin. I am not sure if that is bad sign. But anyways I am moisturizing well so that may be helping. So far no side effects with Zithromax and finally I can eat without waiting like Tetracyclin!

Reply:Day 3-
Only a couple zits…mostly redmarks from my breakout a couple days ago.. I am no ready for the "initial" break out…but the derm said the zithromax will almost reduce that to little or nothing..i hope shes right.

Reply:You're not likely to any good side effects for a little while. You will notice Retin-A side effects pretty quickly, but of the negative variety. There will probably be an initial breakout on it since its much like Accutane, only topical. Your skin will probably burn so use gentle cleansers and apply moisturizers after you get out of the shower. Zithromax should really help out pretty quickly if you have acne caused by bacteria and infections. Its a great great drug for that.

Reply:Day 2-
Same as yesterday barely. I am wondering if I will get an initial break, because I was on differin before a similar drug.
