Cystic Acne is moved in permanently [cystic acne] [tazorac]

Ive worked so hard for a few months to get rid of this cystic acne on my chin and it keeps continuing. Tazorac, B5, birth control. I hope the Yasmin will kick in soon. I had the same breakout same seat errupting always more than two months. Its hell with exactly the same spots pretty much decide to camp on my face always. I feel my only option is Accutane, but its only on my chin, so I do not know whether a doctor prescribes.

Do you have many breakouts coming and going all the time, or they stay for months if I? I feel abnormal.

Reply:Since you've spent so much money on B5 already, i suggest you go take a look at Sageskincare and order their try me packs. It's dirt cheap (lasts for about 2-3 months!), so worth a shot. I had moderate cystic acne (always had 3-4 on my face, but they were HUGE), and NOTHING worked in the past but Accutane. But Sage cleared me right up.

Reply:Yes you are right, I am going to go get more B5 now and at least keep hoping. Good luck!

Reply:i am 25/female i developed acne when i was 14. it has consistently stayed with me. antibiotics would regress it slightly and for a short time. i did proactiv when i was 23, my skin was soooo clear for a year and half, then it gradually stopped working. i was thinking accutane is the only way to cure it, but i heard it may even come back. i am scared of the side effects, and i hate blood tests. if i were you i would keep up witht he b5, use it for at least 12 weeks before giving up. i was thinking and i should try b5 before accuane, i am going to las vegas next week, so i will wait until after that to start it. and yes i am excited about going, but i am very upset with the condition of my face.

Reply:Hey Bunny,

Well, I've been doing B5 for over 3 weeks but I got really impatient because I wasn't seeing any results and I ran out a couple days ago and havent taken any since. but I am sitting here feeling terrible, seriously considering going to whole foods and buying more. If each capsule has 500 mg, you should take between 10 to get 5 grams/day and 20 to get 10 grams (I was taking 10 grams). Anyway I have a derm appointment at the end of the month and I am going to suggest low dose accutane, see what she ends up saying.

BTW if you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I had acne in adolescense that went away only to return at age 21, my derm says it wont even peak til i am 27 :(

Reply:hi its me again, i was thinking maybe i'll do b5 instead, i bought the stuff already. can anyone help me with b5 i bought it from vitacure, how many pills a day 20?i heard for how long?

I have the same problem as you. I have cystic acne on my chin. it goes up my jaw line too. Forehead is absolutely PERFECT, weird. I have had acne for 10+ yrs. I have been on antibiotics on and off for the past 10 years too. I did proactiv, it really worked, but now the acne is back! YEAH I have been recently on doryx and retin-a. i think i am gonna make an appointment with my derm to demand accutane. the bumps on my chin, hurt so much too. I am afraid maybe he won;'t give it to me, cuz its only on a section on my face, but it is really bad. i think we should go on accutane together lol.
