Dermatologist or GP? What to do! [severe acne] [schedualed]

Hi everyone. I am 14 and a moderate and sometimes severe acne that Ive had the past two years. Im sick of doing all over the counter topicals and am just ready to be put on Spiro, Yasmin, or something similar. I am schedualed for an appointment, but Derm, get this . I could not earlier than October 26! : Eek: Im really sick of acne and do not want to wait that long. I was put on medicine and a clear sight by then. My mother said that a family practice doctor could probably just do as a dermatologist. I can ask for spiro or something, and they could perscribe it as good as one could Derm, so Im just thinking about going to the doctor.

What do you think? Should I wait 3 months or go to the doctor to see what he can do for me? Do you think if I went to the doctor, he could help me with my skin?

Reply:Well you should go to a dermatologist but a family doctor could probably give you a prescription. If I was you, I would try to look for another dermatologist that can get your in faster. I?m sure there?s tons of them in your area.
