Has anyone continue using Differin Gel over a period of six months? If so, what are your experiences?
Ive just six months on the mark for the use of Differin Gel. This week my face is clear . but we all know how acne can be.
Reply:hey! i used differin for only 3 months (i feel a little out of place hehe) and my face was clear. now i get some zits now and then…but nothing what i used to
but i cant imagine staying on it my face was so red and dry and flaky
and i got burns! ick!
Reply:Hey guy! Nice name! Anyways, it sounds like those that stuck with Differin for a year + have had nice results. I'm going to stick with it… As for you quitting… I think it all depends. I'm 18 and i've only had acne since my mid teens. My sister had the same condition when she was my age, but when she hit 20 years or so, her acne began fading out (without any medication). This leads me to believe that my acne is hormonal and may only last during my teens. When I hit 20 or 21, I intend to stop any treatment. I'd prefer not to have treatment if it is not necessary. It's all a personal choice. I know continuing the use of Differin gel could be very costly… so if you feel that you are pretty clear, it could be a good idea to quit I suppose. If things go bad, you can always get back on Differin.
Reply:I think I've been using Differin Gel for close to two years and I don't really have an acne problem anymore. At most I usually have a pimple, or one that's healing. Every so often I have two pimples concurrently but that doesn't occur often. I did cut out chocolates, assorted drinks and mayonnaise from my diet because my face wasn't as clear as I thought it should be. Since then it has improved much more. I'm unsure whether the change in diet or using the Differin Gel has cleared me up, so I continue using the gel to maintain my skin.
Unfortunately now I don't know whether I should continue using it or discontinue use. I fear if I discontinue use theres a possiblity the acne will return, and I don't want to have to get it under control again. Any ideas on whether or not I should discontinue use?
Reply:I used it almost two years. It worked pretty well. I started a thread just a couple hours ago under "Here we go…" and it tells some of my experience. You can check it out if you want.
