Does acne medications wear off your skin? [bad acne] [duac]

I was thinking about this the other day.

I not mind using acne medication, like Duac and Retin-A. But I was just thinking that Ive been on this stuff for almost five years now. Is there a chance that it could really wear out my skin? I just do not want a wrinkly mess at the age of 50 points or something, just because I had some bad acne when I was 18.

Reply:from what i know, things like benzoyl peroxide do wear out your skin and can do a lot of damage if used for long periods of time.

retinoids (like tazorac) actually do good for your skin over time. many people use retinoids for anti-aging. i'm not sure if duac or retin-a fall under that category.
