Does anyone else have skin like mine? [moderate acne] [tiny beads]

Reply:Just so you know, I tried using tee tree oil cleansers early last year, and they were a HUGE mistake. My skin did not like this soap at all, and it took me a while to figure out that cleansers were REALLY irritating everything.

Try a more gentle cleanser. If you are using pledglets and other medicines, you don't need the tee tree oil.

My face also looks at it's worst right after I shower. Probably from the unavoidable irritation put on it from showering/shaving. So this is nothing unusual.

Reply:Octagon, thanks for the reply, and anthor, I hope your acne improves to as good as it looks in the picture.

I am sticking to the clyndamicin pledgets for now and washing with tee tree oil. But the thing is now that I am at college I really can't use those pledgets in the morning unless I want my face to look like it's on fire.

Which makes me think .. could I have acne rosacea? I have sensitive skin that flushes very easily and almost always have a darker region on my face along the front cheeks. Could it be that I need a topical like Rosanil designed specifically for acne rosacea?

Reply:I see nothing wrong with oral medication, the way I see it, if you want clear skin, you'll try anything. I was put on minocycline 2x/day, differin at night and clindamycin gel in the mornings about a year ago. It cleared my skin 100% http://users.adelphia.net/~guy/images/2.jpg there's the proof. I loved this combination, I would get the ocassional one pimple a week, but after two days it'd be gone. I experienced so dryness, redness or peeling while on this regimen either. Sadly, my body had become resistant to minocycline because my doctor never decreased my dosage or tooken me off of it, so gradually my acne started to return. Now I'm using Retin-A Micro at bedtime, Clindamycin gel (soon to be using benzaclin) and taking doxycycline 2x a day. With this regimen I had the redness, dryness and peeling for about a week–now its the second week and I only have a slight tight feeling in my skin, the redness and peeling have gone away. I did get an initial break out (its healing now, I THINK) but I noticed results within the first couple of days before the intial break out. My skin looks younger and and more vibrant/bright. I heard Retin-A makes your skin look younger and more bright, it seems to do so.

Good luck +)

Reply:If you have a moderate case of acne, then I suggest you try the following. Oral antibiotics seem to help people only in desperate situations. I don't recommend you take oral acne medication. Take them only if your acne worsens. Now, a topical cream called Erythroycin is probably the best medicine to use to help treat your moderate case of acne. There is a pill form of Erythromycin but as I've said before, oral antibiotics are only for those with infections and so on. You say you were giving samples of Clindamycin which can worsen the effected area but only for a short while. I recommend you stay on this product until you see improvment. It's most likely you will. The alcohol shouldn't be much of a problem. Unless you have a severe case of acne which you do not. I hope this has helped. Good Luck!
