Im 19 now one week ago and I am a man. I seem to have outgrown most of my blemishes, everything I had is the little black dots that you see when you come near my face. My doctor gave me differin gel and after 5 days of use, I broke with spots on my chin and some on my cheeks! I have no stains, as in many, many months! It means that your acne may get worse, but how long will it stay?
Reply:Ok, it's been now 9 days since I been using differin and my chin looks f***** up. This reminds me when I was 15! I have bumps for pimples which I haven't seen in a long time! Should I stop or what I can't bear this no more. I rather have those small blackheads which I think will eventually go away too but slower without treatment then have my face looking f***** up like this! And on top of this I have a bad cold sore on my mostache area and a swollen gland from this under my chin and jaw…I look like I'm facially disfigured, don't even want to leave the house!
Reply:I recommend going to an esthetican (pretty much anyone anywhere who does facials) and usually during facials they use this little sucking vacuum like thing on your face. I don't usually get blackheads, but when my esthetican did it, she showed me after, and I was like wow, where did that come from?? It's amazing
It will also help with your break outs right now. It's a deep cleaning, it's awesome. It's always good to try the least invasive first!
If that doesn't help, then go to the chemicals, but personally, all the money I spent at the dermatologist didn't help my breakouts, and just made my skin red, dry, and feel and look worse than when I had acne.
Goodluck!! ![]()

You should really go back to your doctor and tell him it's not working and that it's making it worse. I'm sure he will prescribe you something new until you find something that works for you.
Reply:The zits ain't big, but not small either. But since I haven't seen blemishes in quite a while, and my face looks relatively clean except for those little blackheads, I got really self conscious and depressed over every zit I just got and was so mad and picked them all, making this worse.
Reply:bear with it for another week or two.. cos i guess u are having the intial breakout now and after that it will start clearing.. i used Differin 2 yrs back n it cleared my acne up pretty well, but it came back when i stopped..or erm, just continue.. a month ago i went back on it, and it caused those big red zits too, but i guess it's just to get the junk out.. now, im using it and taking accutane..
Reply:These blemishes give me awful memories back in the days when I have lots of zits. Man I hope this will pass.
Reply:Hey there,
I tried Differin once and my face exploded in big red pimples. It was so painful and looked so bad I did not continue with it.
Reply:I don't use differin but Retin-A works the same way, basically making your skin peel to make it easier for your pores to drain so they do not get clogged. I have used Retin-A off and on for 13 years. I don't know why it and differin are supposed to make you break out at first…doesn't make sense, but that is what I have been told as well. I never really experienced it, but others have. I have experienced my skin peeling and flaking however and you will probably start that soon. I would keep using the differin. It takes a while to start working.
Good luck
