everyone in his or Accutane Accutane is right now? im seriously considering going to ABT [whiteheads] [accutane]

Im 22 and had acne since like 15 or 16. are not serious at all, id say mild but I woke up with 4 whiteheads everyday and frustrating. Ive been to the derma years, but the last time I was there she suggested Accutane. I think they wanted me for three or four months.

how long were you in for? and there are side effects you experienced? i dont really want to go on it but ive tried everything!

is there a cure? or a temp. established?

Reply:I am on it for mild but persistent acne, and it was great for a couple of weeks in, then I have continued to get a couple of new spots pretty much every week – and I am just starting my 3rd month. I did not have cystic acne, but it brought some out on my skin. I don't think that it is the best treatment for non-cystic acne. I am not clear at all yet, I don't really feel that my skin is any better than before I began but I can't bring myself to give up on it yet. In my opinion, I think there would be better alternatives than accutane for non-cystic acne (especially considering the side effects that can happen).

Reply:I just quit Accutane after 21 days cause my hair started falling out like crazy. I'll probably try it again in a few more months to see if it happens again. I also had very persitant mild acne. In the 21 days I could tell a big difference and I would highly recommend it. I didn't get any kind of breakout but maybe I wasn't on it long enough.

Reply:Well, from what I have heard, Accutane makes your face worse before it makes it better, in many cases, so if all you have to deal with is four whiteheads a day, you might be sorry that you did.

My derm was willing to prescribe it to me too, but I said no because I didn't feel it was worth it.

Reply:I finished on it about a year ago. I had SEVERE cystic stuff, cleared it up completely at the time. A year on, I get a few spots, but compared to how it was, it's nothing. The only thing it has done is muck up the texture/tone of my skin a bit. I was on it for 4 months, everyone gets considerable dryness of the skin, I also had bad light sensitivity problems with my eyes, although taking it into the start of summer didn't help.
