go to the derm to see what to ask? [body acne] [retin a micro]

I go to the dermatologist for probably the fifth time in the past year to see. Every time I go he gives me something new that doesnt work. I am on Retin-A Micro and it works on the conservation of acne, but my face is red and peel every day. I am also taking Doxycycline, which does not work. Im on Minocycline and ampicillin, all do not work (these are for my body acne). What new things anti-biotic/face should I ask? I asked him, before accutane (my skin is really greasy), but he insists that my acne isnt severe enough for her (I wish he could see me if I do not care for my skin so much, I had as a giant pimple). Any suggestions? Thank you.

Reply:Ask for a referral to see a nutritionist who will put you on a low-carb, natural foods diet (organic meats, fruits, veggies, beans, nuts). That will help your health, and your acne, more than anything else.

Reply:See another derm. I also got fed up always getting a new prescription that didn't work. Retin-A also tore up my face. The resulting redness and peeling was more noticeable than the acne! It took me a few years, but I eventually got a bug up my bum and decided to find a derm who would give me Accutane. I can't tell you how nice it is to have no oil!! I honestly expected my face to get all flaky and sensitive like it was when I was using harsh topicals, but it's not like that at all.
My derm also told me that my acne wasn't severe enough to warrant Accutane, but I decided that I had suffered long enough.
Good luck to you!
