OK, my skin is ok, but only a few days ago I started with omega-3 fish oil supplements and my acne is worse than it is in my life ever! I have read and nothing says that omega-3 should do it. Its horrible, I could be allergic to the omega-3? Help, please, any advice at all would be appreciated.
Reply:P.S. The best part about this oil is it can be your only source of fat because it's designed to give you a perfect ratio of omega 3:6:9 EFA's.
Reply:I too break out when taking fish oil (EPA/DHA). What I would do is get something from a nutrition place called "udos choice oil". Basically it doesn't contain EPA/DHA it lets your body do the necessary conversion for these specific oils. If you want to read more about it go to www.fatsthatheal.com. (http://www.fatsthatheal.com.) I've been using this religiously and it is my primary source of fat. I can honestly say this had a lot to do with helping me get rid of acne.
Reply:Yikes, ya I took flaxseed oil before too and did fine on that but I have ADHD and Omega-3 fish oils are supposedly more helpful for that. I dunno though… the flaxseed oil did work pretty good and it didn't cause me to break out… I guess maybe I should go back to that.. it's a shame, wasted $13 on a bottle of Omega3.
Reply:I broke out horribly when I took fish oil supplements too. I switched to flax seed oil supplements and my skin seems to tolerate those much better. It seems to be the only kind of fatty acid that doesn't break me out.
Reply:Perhaps. I took it while pregnant and it didn't bother my skin any. I take it on occasion now but not enough to cause the breakouts I've been having lately. Ugh.
Anyway, you may want to give it a little time bit if after a few weeks your still breaking out I would stop using it.
