it's normal to still get pimples while on antibiotics? [use of antibiotics] [jawline]

I was given antibiotics to take along with my Retin-A about two months ago and I dindt get that first break out until about 3-4 weeks into my use of antibiotics (doxycycline). Is this normal? My pimples are now very low and small. And most of the pimples I get are all over the side of my face around the jaw line projects. I know its normal to the first break of the form given pimple medication, such as Retin-A, what date, etc. Just curious as the standard treatment with antibiotics too, because I got mine construction projects around the fourth week of use, while the use of Retin-A i got it aroudn the one-second week. But the case seemed like the Retin-A did nothing for my pimples (in addition to fighting for the breakouts, reason ning, peeling, fear, all the bad things [as I was unable to tell because of all those red spots / scare]) for about 3 1 / 2 months until I started taking antibiotics (doxycyline) with them. Now my face is not so bad, but a few pimples here and there, my only real complaint is litlte scars and red spots. And my second question is how long before the scars heal and redblemishes, because Ive known her better, but not so fast I hope it? All I can do or eat to hlep accelerate the healing process?

Reply:Yes, it's normal. Nothing is going to miraculously get rid of all of them.

I was on erythromycin for 6 months and still got lots of zits. I just finished a 3-week course of augmentin, and my skin was better but there were still a few zits here and there.

Reply:I'm on Minacyclin (about 4 weeks) and I still get one zit a day, sometimes two. I was getting really angry at this so I looked at Slick's post about Cetaphil and am currently trying that. So I guess the answer to your question is YES it's normal to get breakouts on meds…if it weren't there wouldn't be an ance problem would there :\. As for your red marks/small scars (don't mistake small scars for other things, even if they aren't red marks, they may be able to heal)

People say Neosporin works well? I think it's neosporin, but yeah, wait for more posts to go up or scan around on this board there is a lot of stuff. I don't wanna get flamed for telling you this b/c it doesn't seem like a popular product anymore, but I used Elicina for like a 4 month period after I had really bad acne and picked it. I guess it was about that time period that everything was completely gone. But don't let the amount of time it takes get you down, as you see them fading I guarantee you you will be happy (whether u use Elicina or not). Besides red marks in general w/o an abundance of acne to accompany them don't look that bad anyway. I'm sure you would disagree, but you probably look in the mirror too much :) .
