I have very oily skin, shiny and I get about an hour after I wash my face. There really is not much to do, but that oil use paper or powder. Personally, I do not like oil paper. Even if it sucks all the oil, your face is still fresh looking. So Ill try using powder. Has anyone been a bad idea to use powder on my oily, acne-prone skin?
Reply:I use OC8, works a treat about £10 from the UK www.oc8.co.uk
Reply:And Jazmella, what kinda of powder do you use? talc? cornstarch? rice powder?
I just use Cover Girls' pressed powder…Works fine for me…
Reply:Taking Vitex would be a good idea. I had a slightly oily skin before I started to take Vitex but now my skin is not oily anymore.

Reply:I wash my face twice a day. And i use a moisterizing bar soap. Maybe the fact that i am using a bar soap maybe have something to do with my acne? You know, i read somewhere in this board that using bentonite clay is good for oil, do you know where i can get any?
Reply:I agree with guy. Wash your face with very gentle cleansers only twice a day. No cleansers with acne medications. I use St. Ives Apricot Sensitive Skin in the morning and Purpose Gentle Cleanser or Dove bar at night. There are lots of powders and foundations that won't clog your pores. I use Neutrogena Skin Clearing Foundation and Clean and Clear Translucent Powder. The powder has a blueish tint to help conceal redness. I really like it.
Reply:Is their anything you can do to stop your face from being so shiny if you put medication on it?
Reply:I've never had a problem with powder clogging my pores…I use it everyday without any complaints whatsoever. Give it a shot!
Reply:There are many products that are mattifying…moisturizers and makeup. Just make sure you buy oil free products and you should be fine.
Another thing to think about…how often do you wash your face? Do you use harsh cleansers when you do? Reason I ask is that over washing your face will make your skin oilier because you are stripping your face of moisture so it over compensates and adds more. Try only washing with gentle cleansers twice a day. If you get oily, you can splash some water on and dry it off, but don't use cleanser more than 2 times a day.
Reply:I know how you feel, people talk about my face being very oily everyday. My face is naturally oily but I put facial medicine on my face in the morning so that's why it's like that.
Reply:Try Clearasils Total Control Matifying Moisturizer…I bought this for my son and it absolutely sucks up all the oil on his face. An excellent product! I wouldn't use powder…definetly would clog your pores!!!!
Reply:One thing i am worry about is that if powder would clog your pores?
Reply:I'm the same way…It really sucks…But using powder is a good idea! It really helps eliminate the shine, and evens out your complexion…I use it over my cover-up…It helps "set" my face, and I usually only have to do a touch-up once during the day…Give it a shot!
