Reply:Heres sending hope and good wishes your way.Take care.
Reply:I just really hope I can get it having being my first time to the derm. I think if im persistant enough and let them know how misserable I am they will do it for me.
Reply:Crapple im glad to hear you have insurance.Remember your paying them to help you there not doing you no favors.I know what its like to have cystic acne. How distressing it can be.Im hopeful for you that the accutane will work.Just remember dont forget to take the pills everyday get those blood tests done. Also be patient the acnes not going to go away fast.It will take months but as time goes on your face will get less and less pimples ,till they stop.It will take awhile for the ones that are under the skin to flatten out and break up and disappear.Good luck keep us posted how its going?Take care
Reply:I do have insurance thankfully. My dad is going with me and he seems to always get what he wants from Kaiser (our health company) . Im just going to tell them how misserable I am. I really am misserable acne has taken away near everything I enjoy in life. Right now I don't feel comfortable leaving my house. I force my self to goto work. My face looks as if its rotting in some areas. My jawline has three cysts well 2 of them joined forces to make one big one have been there for 4 weeks and have gone from purple to now turning black. These are not small either. Imagine it a little smaller than a dime in diameter. Its hard for me to goto work I work in the Dermatology section for veterinary medicine. It just makes me more self conscious when I have to speak to clients about their animals skin problems. I just learned today that my acne is pustule and nodule with cysts. I did alot of research on the net with types of acne with pictures. Last time I went to the reg doctor she told me that I was going to get scarring for the rest of my life all around my jawline. That made me real happy. But she also, fast tracked me into the derm so it wasnt a total waste of my time.
Thank you so much for your response.
Reply:Crapple do you have insurance,i hope so cause accutane can be quite expensive? If you cant get accutane from one derm than try another. You might have to be assertive when you ask for it .Some derms usually want to start you off on the milder stuff first. But if you feel your acne is that bad ,your going to have to be assertive when you ask for it .Derms can make more money on you if they can keep you on the milder stuff, so you have to keep coming back again and again to change the meds.Good luck.Take care.

Reply:Thank you so much for your input im going to try to go for accutane on the 24th. I just washed my face and it hurts so bad. It feels like a mountain range on my forehead and jawline. I pray I can get accutane. If not im not sure what im going to do. Im so misserable right now.
Reply:Crapple have you thought about accutane? It sounds like to me that you might have a combination of acne.Cystic acne pimples are usually way underneath the skin. They swell up with like a hard knot under the skin. They rarely come to a head and can last for a month or so.Usually the swelling will go down and it will leave like a red bump under the skin, if you pull the skin tight you can usually see a white spot .It can take up to a yr sometimes to breakup and dissolve ,if they do that .You sound like you got it pretty bad .I would suggest you go for the accutane, before you start to really scar.Accutane has a pretty good effectiveness rate.Alot of ppl down accutane, but you have to take responsibility and research the drug .When you start taking it you have to know what the side effects are and what to look for.And most of all report to your derm anything you might be experiencing in the way of side effects. Most side effects of accutane will disapperar after stoping the drug. Its a powerful drug ,but with every drug theres a chance you could be one of the unlucky ones.Do a search on accutane, before you ask a derm about it .Take care.
