Plz Share Your Holistic (ie Health Store) one finds for acne sufferers I know that many of us prescribed medication to help with our acne. I would like to know a number of holistic and / or natural remedies that you use anything to help, either with or cure your acne. List all products that you have found in health stores that are easily accessible and those who do not have to order online

Reply:I use Aubrey Organic products… they really helped! They're so soothing, yet at the same time they cleanse your skin… and hydrate it! I use their face wash and toner… for sensitive skin.

Reply:I have found that as a spot treatment, tea tree oil works very well. Some people on here have said it didn't help them, but for my cysts, it definitely brings down the inflammation, and it's much better for your skin than using benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid spot treatment. So if you are one of those people that feels the urge to put something on their acne before going to bed (I do!!) tea tree oil is a good choice.

As for supplements, some of the key ones for acne include fish oil, flaxseed oil, vitamins E, A, and C, milk thistle, B complex, alpha lipoic acid, Evening Primrose (if you are a woman) and there are many others that I am sure I am forgetting….and as guy mentioned, SAM-e can be very beneficial as well, I believe it is talked about more in the thread about being thin with acne?? Correct me if I'm wrong on that, but if you do a search on it here you will find more information.

Also if you are a female, I have *heard* that progesterone cream can be very beneficial for women with hormonally influenced acne. But that is just hearsay since I have never in fact tried it for myself.

As far as supplements goes, I'm currently taking Vitamins A and E, Milk Thistle, Fish Oil, Flaxseed Oil, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Selenium, Calcium, and Evening Primrose Oil. The selenium is mainly just a great antioxidant that I am taking more for the anti-cancer benefits than the skin benefits. :)

Reply:Well, one of the natural products that I love is only sold online right now…Capsiderm face wash. But, the other things that I use that have helped with my acne are:
Lemon water, witch hazel, and ice. I also find washing with sea salt and water to be really nice on my skin/acne.
I am also taking the supplement SAM-e, 400 mg./day (will go down to 200 mg.)
