Proactiv stop treatment?. Advice please. [weither] [proactiv]

Hey, Ive been using Proactiv for 1 month now I think, and I was wondering how long did you use until you face is free or if you have stopped taking this treatment, because it hasnt worked you. I would like it if possible if you can me some advice on weither I should stop treatment or continue to use. Thank you ^ ^

Reply:We must have purchsed our kits at around the same time, because I had a similiar question to that. I stopped using mine, turns out it was becoming worse as I used ProActiv. I am alergic to Benzoyl Peroxide, it was turning me bright red and my skin was so oily! I stopped using in one day and within one day, it looked drastically better!

Reply:Hi,

I have used proactiv for a couple of years now and I found it started to work within a couple of weeks. So I'm not sure about how much time you'd give it. I'm only responding because I disagree, as far as the benzoyl peroxide, I used it in many different forms before proactiv, was on antibiotics at the same time etc etc. But the proactiv worked, I was very skeptical but 2 years later, I get the odd pimple but my skin is basically clear.

Good luck!

Reply:for anything you buy, look at the active ingrediants. Proactiv's main ingredient is benzoyl peroxide (which is supposed to kill pacne bacteria) and if you have used products that have had this before and not had any results, then proactiv won't work for you either.
Since proactic kills the bacteria that causes acne, if it was gonna work it should have worked a LONG time ago. (within a week) I
If proactiv isn't working and you would like to try other over counter products, you could try something with salicylic acid or go to a derm and get aa prescription for a retinoid like retin a micro or differin. I swear by Retin a Micro. I am now on the higher concentration and it has saved my skin. Also you could start off with a retinoid AND an antibiotic. Good luck

Reply:i tried the whole proactive thing 2 times… The first time for 3 months-didnt work so i discontinued… The 2nd time, i thought there could maybe be a different outcome so i tried for about a month and once again discontinued. I dont know if it really works for some people or not, but it definetely didnt work for me.
The company claims it works within days-weeks. I think if you havent seen any difference in your skin i wouldnt waste any more time or money on it. Move onto something new!!!!
