Okay, I am no longer taking spiro and would like some feedback on these two supplements.
Saw Palmetto: hormonal acne and other things to be helped?
Evening Primrose: hormonal acne, PMS and concentration?
They both sound really good but I would really appreciate some feedback on getitng more of my vitamins.
PLEASE HELP.
My ultimate goal would be less oil on my face and hair.
Thanks,
Me: confused:
Reply:You might want to try posting on the vitamin section, the people who go on there have a lot of knowledge. They might not have tried these supplements for acne, but they can give you some great info.
Good luck
Reply:I've never used Saw Palmetto, but Evening Primrose Oil broke me out like crazy and gave me horrible mood swings
Reply:^ hey
I am not using the Tea Tree oil anymore because I got scared (a poster said it was kindof dangerous
)
I have been against Proactive too ( i dont know why? I think when they started to get all the Celebs into the mix with the commercials, it put me off).
I hope this cream helps
I have never had severe acne, but I can only imagine the pain that comes with it
Ohhhhhhhh having bad skin really is a bummer!!!!!
Definitly see if you can get accutane (the only thing that stinks about it besides the side effects, is that its not a permanent solution).
Maybe I'll try the tea tree oil again if what i'm using now doesnt work (which it probably wont). Don't worry about not having any advice for me, i'm just looking for a quick fix (i'm very impatient..lol).
well i'll talk to you soon and I hope we will both have good news to tell!!!! ![]()
Reply:Hey Cassie!
I havent talked to you in a while…I'm sorry to hear that things have not gotten better for you, my face is a little better but it seems to be more oily and I still have little bumps on my forehead
Do you know of anything that would help with these little clogged pores?
I have been using vinegar as a toner and I got this clarifying night cream from Proactiv (I just figured I'd try it even though I dont like the Proactiv 3-step system). Both the vinegar and the cream seem to help a little but no major improvements YET!
As for your skin, What type of blemishes do you have? What have you been using on your face? and why do you think it is not improving (sorry for all the questions)
Hi guy! I hadn't even recognized that was you that had posted under this thread earlier, lol.
Yeah things are not getting better for me, only worse!! My next derm appt. was scheduled for mid october, but I called last week and DEMANDED he get me in this month, so now I have an appt. August 17th…I'm going to give him an ultimatum: Put me on Accutane, or I'm finding another derm who will! (oooh don't I sound all big and bad, lol!)
In the meantime, I'm desperately trying to find something that will bring some hope to my face, because really, it would be nice if I could find something that would clear me without having to surrender to Accutane again. I just ordered some soap-free Tea Tree Oil cleanser from Epidermx. I've only used it once, but so far, so good! Still too early to tell. I also just ordered a trial size of the Epidermx microdermabrasion cream, it's supposed to really help acne, scars, and other skin problems, but….I'm skeptical, as always.
I'll let you know how it goes though.
As for the Proactive cream you are using, I have always been against Proactive but recently my mom has been pushing for me to try it again, because she has been talking to two different pharmacists that both said they swear by Proactive products for their own kids' skin. So, it's worth a try! You never know what product may be your miracle cure until you try it out, right?
I don't know anything to help those little clogged pores you were talking about, I get those two occassionally on my forehead and they take forever to go away, but for me, they eventually just dissapear after a few weeks. Are you still using the tea tree oil? I just got some, and it seems to be helping my flare ups shrink considerably.
Before Accutane four years ago, I had severe cystic acne. After Accutane, you would have never thought I had a blemish in my life, my skin was beeeeautiful! Well, then this past year things have been coming back, started getting mild acne. These past few weeks though, my acne has turned into moderate/severe!! Urghh! I usually get cysts, the ones that are swollen and hurt.
Then once they surface, they leave red marks for weeks. No fun!
Well I hope things keep going well for you, sorry I didn't have too much advice, I'll keep you updated on my current regimen and you do the same for me! Wow sorry this post is really long, I got a bit carried away.

Reply:I've been taking 2,000 mg of Evening Primrose daily (1,000 in the morning, 1,000 at night) for the past week and a half and so far…no difference.
