The last time I messed up my sleeping schedule, no sleep till like 7 hours to let you know I am very late (hehe posting). I was wondering if I should start getting my sleep schedule back I would have a lesser chance to break out?
Reply:I don't think sleep schedule has an effect but sleep time does.
Your body does most of its healing etc when your sleeping so if your not getting enough sleep your body isn't getting enough time to heal and rest.
I've noticed the less i sleep, the longer a breakout lasts (healing wise) than if i sleep a full 7-8 hours, it looks a lot better.
I think your body also likes it to stay consistant. So don't go changing it every night like you stay up till 3am and sleep till 2pm and the next day stay up till 4am and wake up at 3am then go back to 12am and geting up at 11am.
Keep is consistant and atleast 7 hours, i'm sure you will see a difference. I have.
p.s. I'm not talking a huge difference but if you have a big pimple and it's really red/swolen and you only have 4-5 hours sleep it won't look very much different the following morning but if you get 7 hours sleep it looks better than it would if you only got 5 hours.
Reply:As far as when you sleep I don?t think matters, but you should get at least 7 hours or so. Anything less than that could cause some breakouts.
Reply:I don't think the sleep schedule per se is causing acne, but some of the things associated with it may. It could be three things
1) maybe your weird work schedule is causing stress which is triggering an insulin response (followed by overproduction of oil)
2) when we're tired our blood sugar drops and we crave carbs – and carbs contribute to acne
3) when we're tired we drink more coffee (usually with sugar) or soda and neither are good for acne
Reply:I dont see that having any effect on your skin…an unhealthy lifestyle to go along with bad sleeping routines isnt great for your body in general though..
