St. Ives Medicated Apricot Scrub – how much is too much? [st ives] [apricot]

I realize this question already asked, but, browsing through the previous posts, I had difficulty arriving at any kind of a resolution. I am also aware that it is generally recommended that these products are used no more than 1-3 times a week, but I would like to hear from those of you who use the scrub with a greater frequency – has anyone experienced irritation or related unpleasantness caused by everyday use? Thanks in advance.

Facial scrubs that have ground up nuts in them are like using sandpaper on your face. You have to be really careful about stuff like that as while it may exfoliate, it also tears up the skin somewhat leaving it irritated. Hence the warning about only using it 1 to 3 times per week. Frankly I wouldn't use that on my face even once a week.

There is no substitute for a mild facial soap such as Biore, with a buff puff, or even a soft face cloth. Wash in circular motions. It's more gentle on the skin and won't leave your face red and sore after the fact.

Reply:Common sense tells me you're probably right – thanks for your input.

Reply:If you dont have real sensitive skin, more than 1-3 days a week might not hurt much. But your not allowing your skin to heal, as its being shed at an un-natural rate. So this might have some effect. This is strictly opinion.

Reply:I'm not using the medicated stuff, I'm using the sensitive skins stuff, but I use it on my face every day. The medicated stuff is supposed to get rid of acne and the sensitive skin exfoliator gets rid of red marks. I'm having good results with it and it's definitely helping.
