I have a bit of a problem no matter how hard I try to clean my face I still get pimples, not so bad, but they still pop up. Im apart of something to eat with lots of sugar in it.
I talked to my doctor and he said something like sugar, just what an impact. You can eat as much sugar as you want and you just have a problem that it is all about hormones. At first I was always told that you affect sugar. but I just want to know if it is true. no sugar impact. and I know that hormones also your face to break out. what kind of hormones are they talking about (crazy teenage hormones or other species)
for the red-i wont have a pimple, like it will be resolved in a certain area, I can put my finger on it and not a lil bump but its still very red. not just red sore tho. embarasing are. Ive heard of this new product Neutragena but i cannot remember what its called. It is meant to relieve pain, redness, and setting the size of the pimple less down in 8 hours. Does anyone know if thats true-it works? I have a recipe for moderate acne i dont have bad acne, but the recipe isnt working Maybe I need a stronger prescription acne isnt even my bad.
oh another question, I know there is a pill that clears up . is that right? I hear it starts to make you have pimples then clears up. Is it true that it sometimes gets worse before better?
thanks so much and his long sry
Reply:Hey Forcefed,
Bad vitamins (or wrong vitamins) can cause acne. I've seen it many times, from people on here too. This may have been your case? Magnesium is one of the most difficult minerals to get through supplementing. Ask anyone with a chronic magnesium deficiency. No you can't fix your mineral deficiency through vitamin supplements, unless they are of very very good quality and individual supplements (not multivitamins). If this needs to be explained I will. You have to do it through food. You could do it through an IV but that will only fix the problem temporarily. Yes acne is caused by many things going wrong but the reason they are going wrong is all caused by one problem: diet.
You can have cosmetic acne, but I consider what you put on your skin diet too. However, I think if most people on here, or Blank had cosmetic acne from wearing hats or the wrong skin care he would know.
Reply:and the reason you have problems metabolizing sugar is because everyone with acne has mineral deficiencies.
I never took multivitamins until after I had a breakout when I was 27 (because at that time I believed others that said it was vitamin/mineral deficiencies that worsen acne). I started taking different multis, most with way more mineral supplementation than I ever had before. I took this multi's for 18 months, and my acne was bad (actually worse) during the whole time. So I wouldn't say everyone with acne has mineral deficiencies.
I haven't taken a multi in 9 months, and my acne is gone. Go figure.
Acne isn't caused by any one thing going wrong, but a bunch of things going wrong, and the result of one problem and that one problem is diet
So acne isn't caused by one thing, but a bunch of things…then in the same statement, you contradict this by claiming it's all a result of one thing…diet.
I agree with the first part, acne IS caused by many things. Diet is not the only one. Hormones, environment, stress…they all play factors.
Passion, I think the pill you are referring to is Accutane. Very serious drug, but works miracles on lots of people's very resistant acne. Talk to your doctor about it.

Reply:it is androgens. A dermatologist actually coined the term "skin diabetes" for acne. If you have acne you have problems metabolizing sugar, and the reason you have problems metabolizing sugar is because everyone with acne has mineral deficiencies. These mineral deficiencies can be exacerbated during times of stress or hormonal fluctuation. Though androgens are responsible for the sebaceous glands (and keratinization), not everyone with acne has a hormonal imbalance. It is the case with women who have PCOS, and this is the result of the circulation of excess androgens. More androgens=more possibility for acne. Hormonal imbalances exacerbate mineral deficiencies, and vice versa. Acne isn't caused by any one thing going wrong, but a bunch of things going wrong, and the result of one problem and that one problem is diet.
