Reply:I think vitamin E may help with the pock mark but you have to give it time. I started using vitamin E about 2 months ago for an acne scar and it did fade in about 4 weeks, it is pretty much gone now. I also sleep with it under my eyes and it helps with dark circles and I hope fine lines but who knows. You can buy a bottle of vitamin E oil but make sure it is pure as I bought a bottle and there was coconut oil added. I just poke a hole in the gel pill now and rub it on scars and I notice a big difference. I also sleep with it on. Great stuff!!!

Reply:would vit E help for pock marks too?

Reply:Palmers Vitamin E Scar Serum-for scars(acne specially)

Reply:question: can you still use your own cleanser and stuff like that? and can i buy just any vitamin e or is there a specific brand?
thanks!

Reply:It's also really good with surgery scars.

Reply:wow that sounds great…do people do these even while taking accutane?

Im scheduled to have an Ultra Peel Dermabrasion for acne scars next week. Just wondering if anyone has done that and did it work? It is very expensive, so I just want to make sure that it is worth it.

Thanks

Reply:all the research that i have done on the ultrapeel dermabrasion reveals that it is a form of microdermabrasion.

My derms office has an ultrapeel crystal and it is definitely microdermabrasion…plus the cost 150 sounds like how much micro costs.

Anyway, let us know how it goes.

I hope it turns out great!!

Reply:The cost ranges from $150+ depending on what you need done. I would imagine that they would only do small areas opposed to the entire face. If you would like, I can ask questions on Sat. and get back to you.

Reply:I am curious to the cost. I have only two places that need it on each side of my chin. I wonder if the size of the area matters? I hope you do not mind me asking.

Reply:I am getting this done at a wellness center. They provide different services. My appt. is this Sat. Once I have it done, I will let you all know how it goes.

Reply:where are u gettig this procedure done? at a derm? or somewhere else? thx

Reply:What you might me talking about is a new form of microdermabrasion where they use a scalpel instead of the crystals. I'm not sure.

Reply:I see…. I've noticed that sometimes people confuse micro w/regular dermabrasion and I just assumed that was the case since I'd heard of Ultrapeel Microdermabrasion. I didn't realize there was a new procedure. Please let us know more about it. Thanks.

Reply:I understand what microdermabrasion and no that is not it. There is a new process out there called Ultrapeel Dermabrasion. The reason I was asking if anyone has done it was because it is a new procuedure.

Reply:I am thinking you mean microdermabrasion. Actual dermabrasion is where the Dr. takes a diamond fraise or wire brush and takes off the upper layer of your skin. Microdermabrasion is a much, much less invasive process.

Reply:HI
I never had this done but please tell us about it next week!

Reply:I don't think you're talkin' about a scar so much as just healing (since it hasn't been on your face that long) I'd suggest a little bit of polysporin or neosporin to stop any nasty bacteria that could reinfect the cut and cause it to scar. That will also help it to heal faster.

Reply:You'd have to get it from your dermatologist….but I've had some success with bleaching creams. They can be expensive, so I usually just get a sample from my doctor. Claripel bleaching cream has worked on some of my scars. I had two bad ones that completely faded after three months of using claripel faithfully each day. It's less harsh than other bleaching creams that I've tried and it has spf in it. I have one bad one again from an injection that I got impatient with – Claripel only faded that one a little after 2 1/2 months…so I'm trying Tri-Luma now (it seems to be helping a little). But you need to put sunscreen and moisturizer on after using it (since it doesn't have spf). I'd try one of those creams.

Hi: A while back someone on this board told me that they used CP serum for skin, acne scars on their biology. I thought I was finally back to researching the subject. I have these words into Google and came up skinbiology.com, but that connected me http://www.scar-reduction.com/

That page is so much information overload, its ridiculous. There are too many products to choose from. Has anyone here used one of them. What if any would you recommend for a 40 years old man with old acne scars (I would have looked at many years ago, after I stopped breaking out!).

Also, has anyone had bad experiences with them. Can you still tan OK, because I think it makes my skin better.

Thanks sunbeds!

Reply:I think the more products you use, the less resistant your skin gets. I've used so many topical creams, scrubs and ointments, I think my skin has become more sensitive now. Every time I even just get the smallest thing on my skin, it can leave a faint red scar for sometimes more than a year. I don't think skin usually takes so long to heal. Does it?? Even simple pimples I never touched have left behind pitted scars. So I don't know. But when you break out, you don't just want to sit back and wait till you clear up <:-) I suppose moderation is always the key…

Reply:Thanks, Lemongrass.

Scudboy – it sounds like you are a lot younger than me and still breaking out. I'm really only concerned about trying to do something for the scars at this point, since I haven't broken out in years.

However, I think that your idea of just using soap and water, etc. may have a lot of merit. When I was 15-20 years old, I tried everything that I could and was constantly battling – washing my face umpteen times a day, using all the topical medicines, etc. Finally, I said screw it and grew a beard. It forced me into not doing all that stuff and my face cleared up shortly after. I kept the beard for about a year, and when I shaved it, my face was totally clear! I think that we try too hard sometimes.

Reply:I have had only a positive experience with CP and Exfol serum and I definately do not work for the company. Everyone's skin reacts differently I'm sure. My breakouts heal quicker and I am less oiily. My skin tone has evened out and I have a bad pitted scar on my cheek that has improved about 40 percent. yeah, it's still there but there is a huge improvement. I think it's just one of those things you have to try and if it doesn't do anything or it breaks you out or something, STOP. I saw improvement in my skin tone and texture in about a week. It's taken a lot longer to see an improvement in the scars.

Reply:i'm having second thought of CP now. Thinking back, I believe if I did absolutely nothing but just take showers and wash my face with water, my skin would never get to this stage. Now that i'm screwed, i try to do stuff to it again and guess what happens? things get worst. The CP serum has made me super oily and my pores are larger than hell.

i believe from now on, i'll just wash with water, eat right and take detox herbs. i believe detox is the only way even though it'll cause things to get worst initially. i guess i'll just live with having scars and hope that as time goes by and as i scratch my face through my pillow each night, my scars will flatten out. Sounds stupid, but why not? Waves hitting on rocks cause them to erode and smoothen out. Why wouldn't our skin be able to do that?

Reply:Scudboy – you answered pretty positively on the other forum. Do you now think that was wishful thinking?

Anybody else?

Thanks.

Reply:i see ur point. its what we call wishful thinking. it has screwed me up sooo many times. things get worst but i always think of it as a process. funny thing is if it goes worst, chances are it'll continue on. i guess we're all desperate.

Reply:I've been using the CP serum for a couple months now, hoping it would smooth out my acne-scarred skin, but I haven't really noticed much difference. I am thinking the person who spoke so highly of this stuff on an earlier posting worked for the company…
So I am still waiting to find the ultimate skin smooting product.
I think many products work psychologically, giving people hope and so improving people's self-image, when in fact the actual image is not improving at all.
I have tried so many products, but nothing actually works…
The only difference I ever noticed was when I started using a glycolic acid peel. It was pretty amazing, but after a few months it did nothing anymore. But at first it was great.

Reply:Thank you very much, Lemongrass! Does anybody else have any experience with this?

Reply:If you don't break out anymore, I would reccomend CP serum with Exfol serum or the Exfol cream. The super CP serum might also be good if you have pitted scars. Some people are using Triduction and getting great results but I haven't tried it so I can't tell you.

Reply:Just wanted to bump it up in case anybody today could help me.

Reply:i thought honey was s'posed to be a good exfoliant. does the type of potato make a difference? like a yukon gold vs a sweet potato? as far as i've heard it doesn't, thanx guys!

Reply:i thought honey was s'posed to be a good exfoliant. does the type of potato make a difference? like a yukon gold vs a sweet potato?

Reply:I never actually tried it, but this is what I read. "potato juice (rub a slice onto the skin and rinse off after 15 minutes) help heal red marks and scars from acne. Vitamins E and K are helpful for the scars (even pitted ones). Honey and aloe are also good for scars. But I was wondering, can honey clog pores?
