Available acne skin care products can be classified into these groups:

1. Internet or Drugstore: Treatment that helps prevents or cure simple condition
2. Over-the-Counter: Treatments for conditions that don’t require prescription
3. Prescription only: doctors or dermatologists, specialist cream or ointment, prescribe special treatments.
Usually, a large part of the skin care industry is consist of preventative skin care products, like cleansers, lotions and skin creams that can reduce acne and prevent future skin problems. They are formulated to eliminate the oil that gets into your pores and prevent harmful bacteria growth which can lead to acne.

General treatments also include skin peels that can remove atmospheric pollutants and dead skin cells. With benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid as its ingredients, it might caused a reaction, so please remind that any skin care product should not contain the benzoyl peroxide at more than 5.5 percent.

If nothing seems to work, you should see your skin care specialist or dermatologist. They can prescribe certain medications, including the use of certain ointments and antibiotics. In some extreme cases, antibiotics are usually very effective. But be careful and discuss it with your dermatologist because people who use antibiotics might develop a resistance to it, so that they are more susceptible to future – possibly more dangerous – infections. In some case your doctor may also suggest a small surgical procedure under local anesthetic.

An alternative that has been shown to work well is hormone therapy. Studies have shown that hormones can cause acne and hormone based skin care treatments have proved to be effective in many cases. Other popular acne treatment includes photo pneumatic therapy. In the light ray’s therapy, blue light destroys inflammation causing bacteria. Some of side effects include swelling and redness. But however, these are minor effects that heal within time.

The risks caused by medications above has made some people drawn towards alternative, natural acne remedies, through the nutrients found in foods – everyday vitamins and minerals – plus some good, basic skin care precautions. Obviously a large number of people are lacking the correct levels of essential vitamins and minerals. Therefore an increased dosage of combination of vitamins, can be just as effective an acne treatment as conventional medicines. When it comes to vitamins and minerals for the treatment of acne, there is a whole alphabet out there: from vitamin A to Zinc. It is also necessary to take good amount of citrus fruits and water so as to detoxify your body from toxicants.

Apart from having a proper diet, using a good face wash, exfoliating masques, and anti bacterial cleaners are the best way to manage your acne as simply as it cleanses the deep pores of your skin and makes it appears smooth and glowing. Also, use skin astringents and water based cosmetics in order to revive from skin itching and irritations in a simple way.
