I use a clean and clear for about 2 weeks now and it really has not done a thing for me, my face actually broke out a small lake with only small white heads here and there, but exactly the same as before, I know it pushes white heads on your skin and cleans it so im going to give it 2 weeks and see where im at. I bought the industrial strength fourmula acne, and my routine is to wash my face with soap in the morning and then I was the night is over with the soap of fourmula, or as instructed soap and then I shave. my face is dry to the touch after so I bought the moisturizer. GESS it does not work for everyone but I will keep you informed.

Reply:I used to always use clean & clear, but last year I started breaking out really bad, with mostly whiteheads and cysts, so i changed my diet, with no effect, I started using proactiv, which broke me out more, and I had no idea what caused it in the first place. I decided to stop my daily regimen, and just use Dove to wash my face, then used a cotton ball with alcohol and just went over my problem areas. My skin cleared out within a week, but for those monthly breakouts, I decided to use the clean & clear face wash, and the next day I had whiteheads and cysts again.

I researched and found out that the SA 2% that was in the clean & clear brought the bacteria in pimples to the surface (whiteheads) but the BP 10% killed the bacteria. (most people use the BP while washing with a SA wash) I now just use the Dove soap twice a day, use a cotton ball with 50% alcohol at night, and use clearasil tinted 10% BP every other day. My skin hasn't been this clear in 2 weeks, and it gets better every day.

Reply:I had the same results as you…I stopped using this product 2 days ago and I had been on it for about 5 weeks or so…my face seemed to have gotten worse while I used it and I too had the industrial strength. I have stopped using the scrub and now I'm just using the soap and some Clean and Clear scrub that usually works for me so we'll see how this goes…

I have some cystic acne that I tried to pop and it didnt work. my skin peeled off over the really rough and left me with pink skin. does anyone have any idea what I can take to help it heal quickly?

Reply:Don't forget sunblock. That pink skin is very susceptable to the sun (even in the darkest days of winter). It will minimize that brown discoloration that sometimes accompanies a freshly-healed pimple and prevent any further sun damage.

Reply:Neosporin…this should help heal and prevent scarring. Forget picking at cysts by the way. I'm a cystic person too and nothing helped but a trip to the derm and RX treatment. Even if you don't pick, those babies tend to scar so try not to touch. Once you've healed, the red mark should fade over time (but hopefully it won't be bad). If you have bad cystic problems and do see a derm, he/she can suggest what's best for treating the red scars (e.g. retinoids, glycolic acid washes etc). Meantime, try the neosporin and a gentle cleanser/moisturizer. Let your face heal!

Hi everyone, today was the worst day ever for me. I work at a bank and anyways I had this really rude customers come to me because he wanted to check collected. Unfortunately he only had one U.S. dollars on his behalf, so I was not able to fufill his request. Im the manager over to help me because he was really rude act. After the manager sais that we could not anymore, she left. The customer said something so terrible for me, I still cry about it now. He said: “Thanks a lot crater face, you must ensure that the acne problem.” I did not even have scars on my face. I do have some acne pimples though. This really upset me because I already go through so much torture dealing with it (well. . trying to treat). I went with a friend tonight trying to get my mind off of his comments, but I could not, all I did was cry all night and think about how unfair life is and how sometimes I would do anything for healthier looking skin have. Sometimes people can be so cruel. Thanks for reading.

But that's ok- if it boosts your little ego then by all means, go for it. It's sad that you have to laugh at your own little nonsensical jokes because no one else will.

I really wish that people… Americans especially would learn that everything that happens to them is not the result of someone else's doing. In this case this man had $1, knowing damn well that you need at least $100-300 as a starting balance, depending on which bank you have. It is not your fault that the man is too poor to even start a bank account. Chances are the man was going to start up the account and then bounce checks like no tommorow in an attempt at cheating the system. I wish people would take account for their actions instead of taking it out on others.

Reply:It sucks that you had to go through that. I completely understand. I used to suffer with acne problems (cystic acne) until I started using Proactiv. I actually had a woman come up to me and tell me that I need to put toothpaste, TOOTHPASTE on my pimples. Hello????? That hot-headed person you were dealing with obviously has little to no consideration for other people and their feelings and unfortunately we can not control other people's actions but we can control our own reactions and how we let other people affect us. Now, because he/ she couldn't get what they wanted, the only other recourse was to make someone else feel bad. Cheer up, believe it or not, your condition was not the REAL issue, it was the fact that that person has a lack of self control and can't take no for an answer.

Do you feel a lot better about your acne when you see someone who has it worse than you do? ? ?
My acne is not bad, but I hate it and it is difficult for the hell of me.
When I see people whos acne is much worse than mine it makes me a bit more luck, but I can never understand how people dare to go further and as happy as it always seems to be.
Acne makes me sad and miserable and I to dissuade me from doing the things I want do.

Reply:I completely agree with guy. As painful as acne has been for me, the lessons I've learned from it have hopefully made me a better person in the long run. Sometimes life is about making the best of your difficult situations.
Seeing people who have severe acne brings out two emotions for me. The first and initial feeling is one of empathy. I understand their pain and I feel as if I can relate to them because of our shared trial. The second and more lasting emotion is one of admiration. Especially if they maintain a positive and strong attitude even through their affliction. I have seen some seriously beautiful people who have severe acne.
Anyways, I don't want to harp on too much about this…Just want to say to those who have found the courage to keep on pushing and living with a positive attitude, despite ANY obstacle placed in front of you, I admire what you do.

Reply:Actually, I think the acne has made me a somewhat more humble person. When I see someone who has it worse than I, I feel sad because I know what they are going through. Just got to keep on going.

What would you say is the best product on the counter in the UK – in terms of reducing inflammation of acne?

Reply:why didnt it work? ive just ordered some! im at my wits end now its really dribing me crazy. my face was quite clear yesterday then today i had a complete breakout all over my face and ive just spent the last half hour picking them so ive made them all worse and just feel really depressed.
the benzoyl peroxide does not seem to be working at all

Reply:not sure if this will help but ive found a product called 101e acne getaway which is supposed to be a miracle in treating acne, including relieving redness and swelling in a few hours.loads of other benefits also -

I have been on Yasmin bc for 6 weeks now. Ive heard that “optimal” results come at 12 weeks. When should I start this because so far Im disappointed.

How long will this take?

I was virtually clear last week – for the first time since forever – even people who said how good my skin was looking – but now this week Im back where I was: (

My back chest acne and my skin has cleared, however, has less fat – maybe thats a good sign, but the face of acne is not clearly remain. My next resort if all the work is . I dont know Im really bummed now: (

Reply:Stick with the YASMIN!! Don't get frustrated and give up now…you've come too far. I am on it and I still deal with a little acne, my skin is MUCH better than it had been. It took 4 months before I saw a drastic improvement, so hang in there.

I WENT TO DR. LANCER (BEVERLY HILLS, CA) AND HE TOLD ME WHAT TO USE. BUT I AM SURE THAT THERE IS AN EPICUREN WEBSITE AND YOU COULD FIND THE NAME OF REGISTERED AESTHTICIANS WHO SELL THE LINE AND THEY CAN TELL YOU WHAT TO USE.

My friend is an estetician (sp? ) and I asked her what was the best product line she had used and she said Epicuren, which is the only line I have yet to try pretty much. I currently use Dermalogica clay cleanser in the shower for my face, then MD Forte otherwise. Dermalogica is good but no amaziing results and I wont buy again. I honestly love MD Forte though–big difference in skin texture and scars, but its not really an 'acne line'–its a glycolic line…I then use DDF 5% BP gel/tea tree at night. I think I will try the Epicuren to replace my Dermalogica that I use in them A.M. I'm trying everything to AVOID accutane!

I did notice an iimprovement in my skin after going OFF antibiotics which had stopped working –worked great for 8 months (ironic it got better not being on them). I think it was killing the "good" bacteria—which acidopholus could help replace. How much do you take orally, what brand?
I TAKE ACIDOPHOLOUS (CALLED HEALTHY TRINITY) OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT BY A COMPANY CALLED NATREN. I PILL PER DAY. I WAS ALSO PUT ON THAT BY. DR. LANCER.

Reply:Ive just finished my 3rd month and Ive just started to clear up! hurrah! I only have one annoying cyst, which is beginning to clear up and I still have marks left over from old pimples and stuff. But my face is less oily and I can wear sunscreen without looking all shiny at the end of the day! yay!

When I first started on Yasmin I broke out really badly..but I waited it out and it seems to be working…hope this hasnt jinxed it!!

Realistically i know that after only being on yasmin for 6 weeks, clearing is not likely yet, but we all know how we lose hope in the midst of a major breakout. ive put hope into everthing else for my skin, and it all eventually failed me and left me with worse skin than before. i hope this at least helps. i have a big date next week along with my 25th birthday, so im hoping it wont be a bad skin moment then and ruin it for me (im noticing it clears for a week then breaks out again–please let it be a clear week!!!

I have battled w/ terrible (mostly cystic) and some surface acne and rosacea since was 12 (I am now 27). I tried every OTC, RX topical, RX pill (even accutane 2X) that I could get my hands on.
What worked for me finally was what I think is a combination of things:
1) Yasmin – I am still on it now. It took a few months to see my skin calm down but it helped a lot.

2) EPICUREN products – these are AMAZING. From the 1st month I went to Dr. Lancer (the founder of the products) my skin has sone a 180. I use the acne cleanser and the acidopholous cream but all skin is different so others may be right for you.
and

3) Over the counter acidopholous pills (by Natren)

This has worked to keep my skin under control to date for about 1 1/2 years now….just thought I would share.

Reply:That sounds scary….n e one know what a good dosage is?…I've taken one so far…didn't really help with the pain…

Reply:I have never tried it, but I have heard it is the worst painkiller for your liver. I also have a friend who got liver disease in College from the mixture of alcohol and ibuprofen. So be careful. I have also been lectured by my physician for taking too much ibuprofen when I broke my foot. He perscribed me percoset and so I would cut down on the ibuprofen…. because ibuprofen is also no good for bone health, development and repair and my foot was broken. It is a good painkiller, but it is not good to use for an extended period of time, especially because a damaged liver is known to contribute to acne.

I use ibuprofen, myself, cause it is good for pain, I am just telling you it's bad for your liver and can cause damaged if used too much. Moderation. I am sure ibuprofen is an anti-inflamatory and that could be why it helps acne?

Reply:Yea when I took it by mouth it reduced the pain of large cysts but it did nothing to the appearance.

Reply:I took it for acne but all it did was reduce the pain of my cyst which was fine. Now what I do is crush it and add a few drops of water and make a paste and apply it to a bad zit. It dries then out pretty good.

I mean taking it in the mouth….did u mean u took it in the mouth and it reduced ur pain or what?…sorry..Im a bit slow today…see ya :bouncing:

I am so confident because of the acne that I did not approach girls. Unless Im in a dark environment than I could. Acne is killing my life, and I want to do something.

When I talk to people, I always wonder what they are aimed, on my face. Im just so confident.

Reply:I cant say this for everyone,but personally i dont care what other people think of me.If they dont like me for who i am then they're not the right person to be with or hang around with.I'm not going to let acne ruin my life.You only live once,so i'm enjoying my life.Although,i must admit at times it has been difficult,so i understand wanting to hide,or not come out of the house until night time.

Reply:I find that it helps when you focus on the other person rather than yourself whenever you're in a social situation. It's hard, but give it a try.

Reply:Yes in theory it shouldn't matter. In reality it does. However, my personal observation is that women without acne are kinder to men with acne, than men without acne are to women with acne.

Reply:Dude, I was there with you, my skin was never really really bad, but after having acne since 14, I was just !@##$ sick of it. Acutane twice, proactive, creams, everything. I have been on B5 for 6 months and my skin has recently cleared about 99%. It takes patience, B5 is always so up and down, rashy redish skin sometimes, but it works, its safe (don't believe all those nuts who question this), and cheap considering the alternatives, try it, trust me.

Reply:What's up man, i can relate to that too. I've had enough of people talking **** about things that don't work for acne, but accutane and B5 are the only things that worked for me. I wouldn't recommend accutane, but B5 is about 90% as good without the side effects. Reply:I hate it. Im intentionally turning down daytime activities. Cause in the sun, I dont want anyone to see me. Especially girls.

Wherever I am, whatever Im doin, I only like the dark. I never have my room lights on, etc. I just dont like being in good light.

Im at a point now, where the past 6 months, I dont even go upstairs to eat dinner with my family. I take it to my room, so I can be in the dark.

not that bad, I don't really give a **** about most girls, even hot girls, it's just the ones I like and would actually want to have a relationship with.

only recently though with medicines making my acne worse.
