Over a year ago I developed large pores on my whole face. Ive used a lot of things on them, but nothing has worked. Im not even sure if these are large pores, because theyre not all the same size. It is also a kind of blackheads look like . idk . none of you know what this sounds like?

Also asks everyone says they can only see way up close in bright light, and do not look . not bad you think this is true? I can only really see them up close, and I can see them in almost every mirror . They look awful in some and not others . idk what to think . if they are as bad as they look at me Im the ugliest person ever.

Do this sound like scars or pores for you? Also do you think I just worked up over nothing? You know what I can use to help?

Reply:I have the same thing is you… large pores all over my nose and a bit onto my cheeks. From what I gather they are just large pores. I dont think they are very noticeable though. Mine are very bumpy… but lately I've been using a Cedar Oil Facial Peel and they seem very smooth… and if im not mistaken they look a bit smaller. (Although I have been using tee Tree oil, Aloe Vera and Onion)

I tried to find some information on whether or not an aspirin Maks will help with blackheads on the nose, but yur was empty. Everyone has personal experience with this and how long until you see results?

Hey everyone, I just got back from my first appointment since the beginning acctuane derm about a month ago. She keeps me on 40mg . is this smart? Ive heard many stories about how I should be on the higher mg counting . but the truth is i dont really think I need it! My face is clearing up pretty well, actually I only get one pimple every few days, only the red marks, blackheads, and my general stationed complex that causes me problems now.

My acne is not so bad, mild to moderate . . but what do you think? 40mgs is ok through the whole course of accutane?

When I finish on August 31, my treatment will have been just a little over 5 months.

Reply:If its not tht bad that okay. You should be on it for atleast 6 to 7 months though. For longer remission if the dosage isnt going to be raised.

Reply:You'll be fine. I took 40mg throughout my whole course and it has kept me clear for almost two years now. Usually the derm ups the dose if the amount you're taking is not effective.

Yes, my face is completely clear, even of red marks. Vitamin E really helped reduce fading red marks so I would use a little drop of that every night on my face.

Reply:I've been on 40mg my whole course and I'm done in 8 days. My acne was mild to moderate too, just a lot of persistent cysts. I've cleared up tremendously and I'm just praying that it won't come back.

Reply:im on 40 mg for my second month… she said for 3rd month my dose would be upped…

Reply:but i hear theres a much better chance of the acne returning once im finished the accutane…?

Reply:If the 40 mg is working I would just stay on that. You have a lot better chance of not getting any series side effects.

I use Paulas choice BHA 1 percent every night for a month now and is just a microscopic improvement in the blackheads on my nose.

should I wait longer to see if the results of the percentage?

Reply:Hi, you have seen my other thread, be careful with pore strips! Its only happened to me once but they can take the top layer of skin off which is really nasty! I was using boire, have also used nivea, not much difference between the two.

Reply:The new Clean and Clear Blackhead Clearing products are great. Give those a try.

Reply:Well, uh, BHA is Salicylic Acid. Perhaps you should try Paula Choice's 2% BHA solution? Or maybe try Neutrogena's new blackhead controlling products. I haven't seen them myself, but their website lists them. Basically, there is no miracle cure for blackheads. Extended use of BHA should eventually clear everything up. I don't really know how long it will take. Have you tried the Biore Pore strips?

Reply:you might want to try switching to a different acid, like salicylic or glycolic acid, which are both rated excellent for blackheads and pore-unclogging. Yes, I can see how you would feel after a month that something needs to change. I usually give my products 2-3 weeks and then change something if they aren't working.

Ive seen people where their blackheads are so close to the surface they look like you could almost scrape them off, but mine look deeper and I do not think there is another way than doing peel to get rid of these layers of the skin. I have blackheads on my nose and forehead and they are deeper in the skin.

Reply:That can get expensive. Masking or strapping tape work just as well, but all of them only get reach the top layers. I think the idea is to strip the dead cells off and let what's underneath come up. Biore strips never pulled anything big or deep from my face, but I do like them all the same.

Reply:Have you tried Biore pore strips? Those work best for me. It's not permanent, but it keeps them at bay.

I wanted a face to extract my blackheads get. Does anyone know the name for that specific facial expressions. Is it useful? Does it leave scars? Thanks for your help!

Reply:Facials are awesome for blackheads on your nose and chin area. They use this tube and literally suck all the black heads out and even the white yucky stuff that's under the surface. You'll be amaze all all the guck that's under the surface. The stuff grows back within a few days (the white stuff that you can't see) but the blackheads stay away for at least a few weeks. If you only break out in those areas I really think facials will keep the pimples away…

Reply:you can try using a gentle cleanser and add a bit of baking soda.
it works for me..just do that once or twice a week
and don't rub too hard on your face..just message gently
it works for mine blackheads
usually i do a egg white mask to minimize my pore

Reply:Also, one thing (actually the only thing) that helps clear pores is peroxide. But, if you ever use it be sure to do a patch test coz many are DRASTICALLY allergic to it.

Basic facials usually include extractions. You ought to also try the facial with a glycolic peel – they put this liquid on your face for 15 mins and you feel it tingling and stinging, but you don't get all red and don't peel. The glycolic help to remove the dead top layer than exacerbates skin conditions

Yesterday I saw a white thing on my nose, so I just squeezed it very carefully and like 10 blackheads just pretty much fell out of my skin. When I get more attention, I realized that there is almost as if there werent used. Each pore used with a black dot and although ive never really worried about them, it was so cool to see that the accutane was actually pushing out. I just squeezed gently on my nose and looked blackheads just slip right out of the skin. I didnt even use my nails or much pressure or something else to post. Im so excited because when I look at my face and now I see that my nose ZERO blackheads now, something Ive seen since elementary school, I know that accutane does its job!

Reply:I hope your skin will start to dry up soon. Like I said, for me it seemed to happen overnight so be prepared with lots of moisturizer when it does happen. My skin got very dry and peeled a lot (I took it during the summertime too).

Reply:i'm on amnesteem too:-) we can be on our journay together lol I was given amnesteem not b/c of insurance but just because thats the kind my derm prescribes. But i also heard that it has worked well for people on the boards. ok hopefully 40 mg will dry me up soon too since it took 2 months for it to make you dry!

Reply:i am on the generic brand, amnsteem i think its called? i had to get generic with my insurance, but i asked for that particular genceric brand because the derm i interned with told me besides accutane brand, it had the most success (less recurrances) which one are you on?

Reply:I was on 40mg for the whole course of treatment, except on weekends, I'd take 2 40mg pills.

Reply:I'm new. Just started accutane yesterday. I'm already noticing my skin being less oily (which is crazy, only my 2nd day, but I had to put moisturizer on my face twice already today). I also have many blackheads on my nose and elsewhere. We'll see what happens….

Reply:smartpants, don't be mad at yourself, i understand it sux cuz i had to try alot of other treatments first also. i think just about everyone does. doctors don't want to go with something so strong unless they have to, and since there are alot of accutane lawsuits i am sure that is the biggest reason. the whole lawsuit thing pisses me off but thats a whole other topic. as far as i am concerned, long term antibiotics are way more harmful than accutane. some derms agree, but not all, plus every person is different. anyway i know it sux to have to wait cuz i had to, but you will beat this, the time goes slow because we think about it constantly. we are here for you

Reply:im jealous…i wish i was on accutane but my dr. says i have to earn it by trying other options first…i am kicking myself in the butt for not startinng thise whole treatment process sooner….Ive been suffering with acne since teenage years, although it was particularly bad throughout university….if i had just gone to a dr. like 8 years ago, i could have tried some other options, then got on accutane and had clear skin for the last few years…..im so mad at myself for not doing that….

Reply:Thats great to hear! I have the same exact problem with many blackheads on the nose and some around it. And the oil problem I have with bad acne on my back and some on face.
I have to wait until September to go on accutane (getting back on insurance) and hope it does it's job. I'm 23 and tried many things prescription and nonpresciption since I was 18 by going to the doctor. I'm hoping that finally this will end.

Thats it. I will never touch my pimples again.

I used to pop the second seat. Then I realized that it was bad. I stopped popping whiteheads. It is 3 months.

Now, Ill stop picking at blackheads. Even though they are smaller and less harmful, if picked, they tend to become bigger and red – like a regular-zit.

I had a small blackhead. Barely noticeable. Stupid me – I thought it was fun to get to her. So I pulled the oil and now my little blackhead is a regular medium ruby. I am so angry.

Reply:I swear when I picked one of my black heads it developed into a nasty cyst within a few days. And I hardly ever pick. Ugh, that was a mistake.

I have a question for you. Do you have black heads? Since I started accutane Ive had so many black heads, I can not take it! : D

Reply:I also weight about the same. Fluctuates between 145-153 or so. I hope my derm will still up my dose to 80.
I'm on day 14 and my nose is starting to look funny. They don't exactly look like blackheads. But each pore looks dark and kind of 'shaded' like there are blackheads emerging from way down underneath. About how long does it usually take for them to come out once this starts happening.
Half of the first month is just about over and so far so good!

My nose looked horrible when the blackheads were starting to come out. I would run my fingers over it and it felt like sandpaper. I would scrub with a washcloth and some of it would come out but they kept pushing their way out for probably 2 weeks or so.

Reply:by next month theyll should be gone. It took me like 3 weeks. I was excited when out of nowhere, I check my nose and i didnt have a single blackhead iwould always be rubbing my nose because when they were coming out my nose felt like sand paper .

I had a black head in every pore on my nose. Little by little they would come up to the surface and then in a few weeks they disappeared, not even anti boitics got rid of that just accutane.

Reply:This is week 3 for me. I am on 40 mg. I have seen no progress. Yes, my lips are dry and so is my skin. BUT the pimples are still there and oh my god the black heads!!! I can't take it. Has anyone experienced these black heads??
