i am a girl. it is worse for a girl. i always hid it well. i don't think it matters as much for a guy. i remember seeing a freddie prinze jr. movie. i think it was "boy and girls. there was a scene wher they show his back. they didn't edit it. even celebrities have acne. i know several girl friends who will sit and pick the pimples on their boyfriend's backs.

i am so happy i can wear tank tops. i was initially embarassed to see a doctor. now i am completely clear.

As far as a girl ever mentioning it, yes, they did mention it. They'd ask about it or say something like 'is that why you don't wanna go swimming' and that was terribly embarrassing. For the most part though, I don't think they cared all that much. They liked me for who I was on the inside (how they ever saw that person, I cannot guess), but in the end, acne ruined much of what I had.

Believe me though, you're not alone at all. I know exactly what you're going through. Exactly.

I m not saying that this will work for everyone, and acne tends cyclic, so of course it is possible that this is a fluke and I will update my acne returns. But still, I thought other people might like to hear of my success in case it works for them, too.

If youre on ur face wash, the water business:

Acne / oily skin, use ~ 38-40 “C (body temperature higher than ur)
Dry / sensitive skin ~ 35-37 C (lower than ur gt)
Normal skin ~ 35-38C (more / less the same as ur bt)

* No matter what type of skin uve, do ur final purification step by dabbing cold water ~ (u knw , calm down the pores)

And ~ I read that if you have body acne, do not ever use alkaline cleaner for ur Body ~ ~

It never worked for me. I used it for 3 weeks straight and I had NO results.

I to m on Retin A Micro 0.04%, together with two pills of Zithromax week. It has done little to nothing. Although the occurrence of acne to some extent has done little to nothing to actually remove the existing acne. Ive tried tons of stuff – Differin, Tazorac, and now this is my third time trying Retin-A Micro. I wash my face with Neutrogena wash twice a day – I pretty much do everything right.

My mother says she will spend every possible option until we get out before I start Accutane, and it makes me angry, because I most likely have no acne by then. I really miss on a number of social activities and things with friends and I have absolutely no confidence when it comes to girls – and to finish my school alarming one of those “free acne school where you can t be comforted by watching for people with a worse acne.

I him a really hard time with this, and I am 16 with a very short school life for me. I want this behind them. Have any of you doorlopen Retin-A and had more than two months to work? Or should I just give up and see if soap + water is better for me and see what my derm has to sell me that will not work?

A quick second question for m Acctuane users.

I currently on Accutane on 40mg (im 180 pounds, so this is a lower dose, but for double the time) and only the last two days I have broken on both sides of my cheeks. This is unusual because I take Accutane for body acne, I usually have no / little on my face.

Does this does not work and I would to increase the dose? My intuition tells me that I stay on drugs for the full 10 months at half dose, rather than the full dose for 5.

Any ideas?

Also did my body to build up an immunity or tolerance to tetracycline and is this permanent? Or maybe if I change for a while then it stops workign again I could use tetra? I would not go from one antibiotic to the next building up tolerance to them all that nobody will ever help again.

I when I noticed once I took an ear infection penacilin for two weeks and kept my tetra and my skin looked great had ! Is there something like penacilin for acne? Thansk all!

Ive prescribed Accutane today, a lot of bad body acne (acne on the face is not at all!), And I will be the beginning of the course on Sunday, December 3.

Id very grateful for a checklist of what to do to side effects (such as supplements to relieve dry, thinning hair and skin care products to use, etc.) to minimize

Ive already careful with my dosage, the view to minimize side effects. I am a tall man, 180 pounds, but have opted for a lower dose for a longer period (starting with 20 mg per day for the first month, rising to 40 mg thereafter) 0.

P.S I will be keeping a diary again. I am aware there are a lot, but my acne on my face, but seriously parts of my body, I thought I might be an interesting case for those with the same problem.

That sometimes happens doesnt it… I wonder why? And i wonder if the over all effect of the medication is different for these lucky ones… :confused:

I too am on accutane, about day 43, but for the opposite, no body acne just face. I recommend cetaphil…at first it seems to be toooo basic and not working, but its very nice. Some people get dryness all over / very very mild hair loss that returns…i have experienced neither, just less oily. Like others, dont expect tooo much in month 1…its usually when everything ''comes out'' ( month 1 and 2 ) but u may be a lucky one that gets better from the start!
