Reply:absolutely false. You can get rid of your acne, no matter what kind, for good by changing your diet the correct way.

Reply:damn hope not!!

To be honest I can't picture many 80 year olds walking around with a pimple on them… on the other hand, I always have a pimple. I'm on spiro which has helped heaps and it's like I have one pimple that just keeps swapping spots on my face. I only ever have one but I seem to always have one.

But I'm not complaining 1 is better than 8.

Im only using micro Retin-A for 10 days and my skin looks terrible ! ! ! !. Much, much worse than when I started Retin-A. I breakouts all over my skin. The first breakout is supposed to be that bad? And when does one improve performance? I read results were supposed to start in 2 weeks! : Mad: Well, any input is appreciated!

Reply:Retin-a micro is a long term drug,,, it takes a while to see real results,, and it ussually get worse and then better for the long term….. the way your using is not how it was designed to work,,, maybe your skin clears up and it just happens to be aqt the same time,,, if anything i would think it would make your skin worse the way you are using it,,, you should try it for 2 months,,, weeks 3-6 can be touhgt sometimes tho… it cause a break out and then it starts clearing your entire face… good luck… "guy"

Reply:How often are you guys using Retin-A-Micro? Every night? Every other night? Morning and night?

I didn't get a prescription for it, it's actually my mom's (She uses it for the peeling factor not acne). I use it every other night when my forehead starts to break out, and I find it pretty effective. Except sometimes my skin will feel fine, then suddenly it'll be really dry and red. I can't stand the dryness so I haven't been using it consistantly. Has anybody had really good results with Retin-A-Micro?

Reply:Personally if you're looking for natural looking skin, retin a is not the way to go. It thins the lining of the skin and almost always causes severe dryness, irritation, and an ugly blood red color (and with all these usually comes oily skin leading to deeper pimples.)

Ah, don't listen to that… Besides, what does he mean by "natural looking skin" anyway? Would you rather have natural looking skin with zits, or beautiful smoother skin with no zits? Ha!

It will cause irritation and dryness at first, but your skin should get used to it!
Yes, it does thin the skin's outer layer. That is what it is supposed to do. It gets rid of skin that can contribute to clogged pores that lead to zits!

Reply:Personally if you're looking for natural looking skin, retin a is not the way to go. It thins the lining of the skin and almost always causes severe dryness, irritation, and an ugly blood red color (and with all these usually comes oily skin leading to deeper pimples.)

Reply:What type of Retin-A Mirco did you guys use? I've been using the 0.04% treatment for a while and my skin has soon some improvements.

I've been on Retin-A Micro .04% now for 7 weeks. I too had a terrible initial breakout. I hate to say it, but you may not be through the worst part (or who knows, maybe you are). After the worst of the breakouts, my skin was so irritated, stinging, peeling, and very red. It hurt really bad, I was depressed, which was fine because it hurt too bad to smile anyway. After 4 weeks, my skin slowly started to heal, and I haven't gotten nearly as many pimples as before. Where I used to get 2 a day, I've gotten only 3 the past week! During weeks 3/4/5 I was so ready to quit, but I told myself "I've made it this far. Just keep it up!" If you can't try using this for at least 8 weeks, in my opinion, you shouldn't do it at all because it would be a waste of time. If you ever quit using it and decide to try it again, you will go through the same initial reaction as before. SO IN OTHER WORDS, DON'T QUIT UNTIL YOU'VE TRIED IT FOR AT LEAST 8 WEEKS!!!

As far as the person commenting that acne was supposed to improve after 2 weeks – highly unlikely. It should take AT LEAST 4 weeks, or as much as 8 to really see an improvement.

I do have lots of red marks from the initial breakout period, but Retin-A will fade them over time. I'm so happy that I gave Retin-A a chance, and hopefully I will be completely clear soon!!!

Reply:What type of Retin-A Mirco did you guys use? I've been using the 0.04% treatment for a while and my skin has soon some improvements.

Reply:I used Retin A Micro when I was in about 10th grade. I'm now almost 20. But I do remember my face looking absolutely HORRIBLE. I didn't stick with it very long because my face hurt so bad. It even hurt in the shower and it would sting against my pillow. I just couldn't take it. Of course, I was never warned of an initial breakout. You should really stick with it and see if it helps. Different things work for different people and this COULD really work for you.

Reply:Hi. I am a new member as of today. I am junior social work major in college and I am taking a class in working with groups. I was required to join an online support group for an assignement. I chose an acne site because I also struggle with acne and have been for years.
I saw your message and I wanted to let you know that I can relate to your frustrations. I had to use several different types of retin-A. I found that rentin-A dried my skin out and at first it did not work. I had to switch the types of retin-A I was on several times because my skin became used to the chemicals. Eventually, my dermitologist put me on accutane. In my opinion, retin-A works for some people and not others. It only worked temporarily for me. I hope this helps.

Reply:sometimes i use a first aid cream called MECCA (healing antiseptic)….it helps bring a pimple to a head and drys it out if u keep using it….i have used it to help bring a cyst to head and it has worked great…it is also good for cuts, burns and boils

Reply:alright thanks for all the feedback.. I will try to do something today and hopefully by tomorrow things are alot better. Would anyone recommend applying the gold bond cream? I read and its use to mainly for insect bites, minor burns, rash and other crap not sure if it contains any oils that might make things worst but I gotta do something about this.

Reply:I've recently found that pure vitamin e oil significantly reduces swelling, as soon as I apply it to my face it feels cool and less irritated and believe my I've had some severe swellings, cystic acne in my time…! Every morning I mix pure vitamin e oil (break open a capsule or pure bottled oil) with vitamin e cream or a plain moisturiser and massage into my face. Vitamin e is found in a number of skin products, it contains a lot of antidoxidants (spelling!!!) that are beneficial for the skin… it also promotes healing of tissues, cell renewal, scars, cuts, improves texture of skin, slows down the aging process etc, etc…! All in all, I have noticed a great difference. I have been following this regime since Monday and although it's early days, it's working. Last week I had a severe break-out, so bad that I was gonna miss work and not leave the house…! I started researching vitamins and what can help and read reviews from other people that have been using pure vitamin e oil for 10-15 years that have suffered from acne and either fully recovered or noted that it had significantly reduced there acne. Being of mix-raced (White/Asian) colouring I found that over the years my skin looked in my opinion bad, damaged, and started to lose it's even tone (colouring). Yet, yesterday I was complimented on how I had great skin tone and how I had a nice compexion. I haven't heard that in 7yrs…!!!! Granted, I've tried a number of products and wasted thousands of $$$￡￡￡, this regime is natural, cheap and it is working for me. A lot of people panic when you mention the word OIL…! I did…! But no new spots have formed since I've used it and my skin isn't greasy. I suffer from combination skin.

Hope you find some of this helpful… I would advise you (although it's easier said than done) not to stress…I believe thats a huge factor with acne.

Later
guy

Reply:take some ibuprofen (advil, nurofen etc), put some ice on it, take some zinc and garlic (or just a garlic clove whole, I know it sounds yuck…) then go to bed and get 8+ hours sleep.

Reply:If it?s still active, you should put some cream on it to dry it out and kill the bacteria. If its just red and swollen, but no acne, the only thing you can really do is ice.

Reply:Whenever I get a huge red pimple, I get a washcloth and run it in hot water, then squeeze out the excess water and place it on the pimple for 5 min or so. I usually repeat a few times and then apply med at go to bed. I do the same thing in the morning. It reduces swelling dramatically. Good luck!

Reply:maybe try some ice to reduce the swelling

Hey, 4 days Accutane users here. Just wondering if it is possible that I had my first breakout start? Because I have since last night to break out. Anyone? Lead me.

Reply:thanx for your posts. I am actually glad that it is the breakout I am having. I am very happy to see the tane go to work so quickly. I was worried that is was just a regular breakout I was having. I thought it might be too early yet, but thank god it's not. I am only on 20mgs, but I have pretty severe cystic acne. I wanted my doc to put me on 40mgs or higher,to get the initial break out, out of the way. But he was too worried that my breakout would be too big I think.

Anyway, I thank you all for the info you give me. when ever I have a question, it gets answered here. You always find someone in the same situation as you are.

When (or if) he ups my dose next month, do you think I will have another breakout? And if so, is the second breakout as bad as the first?

Lots of questions I know. Sooo sorry.

im on 20mg 2 tablets a day and i have to see my derm next week i think he might put the dose up abit so this is a question i want to no ive had 1 breakout i dont want another

Reply:Hi Mommypox,

I think everyone is different really. I started mine on day 7. It lasted about a week and then died down. I got bumped up from 40mg to 80mg 10 days ago, and so far I haven't really broken out as bad as when I first went on it. A little bit, but no where near as bad!

Matt

Reply:yes im on accutane into the 4th week now and i got a intial breakout about day 4 or 5 had white heads all over mostly around my mouth and few on the side of my nose they went away after about 1 week ive only had 2 white heads since then it seem to be settling down for me now and clearing abit you should see results soon just hang in there it was abit distressing for me when i had my breakout but hopefully it will go away completly the side effect i have at the moment are very dry lips which everyone gets and a pain in my back speacialy when i lie down it kills me only for about 5 mins though then it goes away keep us updated on your progress as it always help to no what other problems people are having with this
goodluck

So Im on Retin-A Micro for over a week now, I do not keep track of time and so all I know is that Ive been using more than one week. The first breakthrough started which I found out is normal, but her TERRIBLE.

TERRIBLE in my life has never been this bad my acne, my skin is too full of oil. The scars of this outbreak will take months to go, they are the worst scars Ive ever had one of my face, look like cigarette burns healed. My face is not dry or flaky at all, just really cool and really red. Ive never had a red skin, even with my acne my skin was not red.

Sucks, oh well.

Reply:I can relate to what you're saying. I was on Retin-A for over a year, and tried it again for several months another time and experienced the exact same things. It really ruined my face and I got absolutely no benefits whatsoever from it. I'm still trying to get rid of the blackheads and large pores I got years and years ago from that stuff.

Reply:I have a question…can retin-A micro be stopped after 12 weeks, and if so, does the acne come back?

I really want to stop using it, because its really making my skin feel unnaturally dry

Reply:Sorry you are going through this, but guess what?? The medication is doing the exact job that it is supposed to do. I can tell you to hang in there..easy for me to say, but this medication does help alot of people. Hope it gets better for you!

Reply:what did your doctor say about it? Is it a month before your skin will see results?

Reply:I've never tried this stuff, but really anything you get from the doctor is going to take at bare minimum four weeks for even slight improvement. I'd just stick with it until then and hope that you see some difference. If not, then you might want to stop taking it, but its strong stuff and it should work provided its used correctly.

Everyone knows that when a first outbreak of zinc supplements (40 -50 mg / day) to get? It seems that I read on the net where it is possible. Anyone experience this? If so, how long did it last and you have any results from the zinc? Thanks for the reply.

Reply:No you will not break out intitially with taking zinc internally just have your skin heal better that's all.

Reply:No I don't think so. I take zinc (60mg nightly) and I have never broken out because of it. It is simply a supplement to help you heal faster, I don't think there's anything in it that will bring up existing pimples faster. It may also strengthen your immune system which I guess could cause your face to look worse, but only temporarily while it clears? I doubt it though. No supplement I have ever taken (immune strengthening or not) has ever made me look worse, only better.

Reply:anyone know if zinc can cause an initial breakout?
I have made through the first months okay and plan to continue on 40 mg during the course of treatment, I wonder if there is no chance that I might be the breakout pass (which Im totally freaking out about) . Does anyone out there finished a course of Accutane without the skin flare-up? I would love to hear your stories. Thanks!

I began @ 80 mg per day and stayed on that dose for the entire treatment. I had a slight flare-up around week 3 and 4 but nothing significant. After that I was basically clear – maybe 1 or 2 blemishes but after month 2 I was clear and have essentially been since.

Forex Breakout System
Reply:Hello!!

I'm about 1 1/2 months into Accutane. I too was worried about the initial outbreak. I didn't have one as of yet. In fact my skin looks the best it has in 15 years!! I cant be any more happy with this drug.

I am having a lot of problems with my lips. They are very dry. Today's a bad day. Tomorrow will be better…I hope.

I started out at 40mg. and I am now taking 60mg.

Good luck!!~~Kim
