Hi, I was on accutane about 4 years ago and had terrible cystic acne that before and after accutane in fact it went away, except for an occasional small pimple. Ok, after reading all your descriptions Im thinking i dont have cystic acne, but acne normal i guess? I mean, Ive always spots – at least 6-10 blemishes, but I do not think they cysts (Im 25 so the way puberty is not just a thing!) I have severe cystic acne on my back. My derm has me try minocycline, erythromycin, Duricef, Cleocin T solution, T-stat solution, 8% Brevoxyl Creamy Wash, Brevoxyl 8% gel, and Duac Plexion detergent. They have helped cause and without treatment it is terribly painful, but they do not clear my mind and I keep getting the terrible scars and hyperpigmentation. Okay, so look what I just learned the other day .
After my weird break out back in the middle of January, my dermotologist prescribed Duac Gel (which Benzoyal Peroxide, I am sure everyone knows now . but just incase) for my cystic acne.
Well my boyfriend (school, which is the main Biochem) starts reading the label on the Duac Gel, and starts laughing. I ask him whats so funny, and he begins to explain that in his lab classes, she Benzoyal Peroxide used as explosive! : Eek
Ive worked so hard for a few months to get rid of this cystic acne on my chin and it keeps continuing. Tazorac, B5, birth control. I hope the Yasmin will kick in soon. I had the same breakout same seat errupting always more than two months. Its hell with exactly the same spots pretty much decide to camp on my face always. I feel my only option is Accutane, but its only on my chin, so I do not know whether a doctor prescribes.
