Laser Treatment for Acne

Acne Laser Treatment Types

There are various kinds of laser acne treatment, so you should consult a dermatologist before choosing any treatment. Some of them are as below:

Nonablative Treatment: A laser is focused under your skin to stimulate collagen production and constrict the skin in the area
Erbium Treatment: It is another type in which heat is passed through water molecules and consequently gets into the skin. This ends acne breakout, removes facial wrinkles and acne blemishes.
Fraxel laser treatment: It is the first non-ablative resurfacing laser treatment of its kind in the world. It is a treatment mostly for severe acne.
Vbeam laser and IPL treatment: Very effective while treating acne on the skin surface. It focuses on the very small blood cells, and develops the skins color leading to treating acne from the body.

Carbon Dioxide Treatment: It is the best technique of all as laser treatment for acne as it is able to cure all types of acne.
Smoothbeam laser treatment: It proliferates growth of collagen, which smoothens the skins surface. This treatment is given to the people with acne after using the topical local anesthetic.

Redness may appear around the affected area after completion of the laser treatment. After the laser treatment, people with acne are advised to sun protection formula to avoid sun tanning. The time you need to recover depends on the amount of treatment you require. In most cases people experience some redness and swelling. The redness goes away faster, only the swelling lasts for few weeks after the treatment. Below is some other laser treatments for acne scars:

Microdermabrasion: Typically done in a series of treatments every week or two for best results. Micro fine abrasive particles of aluminum oxide are used to smooth the skin surface layers. It’s like a strong exfoliation treatment that removes the top layer of skin. This helps with minor acne scarring and discoloration, but may not be adequate for deeper scars. If you have darker skin or hyper pigmentation, you may have some patchy discoloration following this procedure, so do some research and consult your dermatologist to make sure of any potential side effects.
Photorejuvenation: Better used for treating discoloration than for deep scarring, but it can restore a smoother complexion, and has very little side effects. Intense pulsed light (IPL) is used to treat individual lesions and discolored marks

Collagen Injections and Autologous Fat Transfer: Collagen may be injected into deeper scars, thus plumping and filling in the surface skin. Or, fat may be transplanted from another area of the body and injected into scarred areas. Each of these treatment options is temporary, lasting from a few months to a year.

Acne Laser Treatment: There are many different types of laser treatments for acne (like it has been mentioned above), and the right laser will depend on your skin and type of scarring involved.

Acne Surgery: Can help with very deep scars that might not respond as well to other treatment options. The scar can be removed by a “punch” technique, where the skin around the scar is punched out and then sutured back together so it can heal cleanly and smoothly. Another common technique is subcision, where a needle is inserted under the scar and the fibrous bands of scar tissue are cut and released.

There are some advantages of laser acne treatment for scars. First, it is easy to control the depth of treatment unlike most other treatments. Some may be surface scars and do not require deep treatment to fix while others may be very deep scars and need a deeper laser penetration. Second, laser treatment on acne could also smoothen wrinkles.

Tips and Treatment for Acne

Treatment for acne is various in kinds. If you have mild acne, then these healthy tips might be a great solution. Here are some dietary treatments for your acne:

Eat Fruits for Breakfast

While you sleep, your body is detoxifying and cleansing out the waste material from previous day. Eating heavy breakfast in the morning forces your body to stop this cleansing process and to start digesting food. Fruits only need very little digestion, so eating fruits in the morning gives your body additional hours to do the detox and repair work.

Replace Grains with Sprouted Grains

Grains (like wheat) are difficult to digest. Eating too many grain products causes constipation, which is directly linked to acne and other skin problems. The best option is to use sprouted grains, since sprouting makes grains much easier to digest.

Avoid Problematic Food Combinations

Avoid eating two concentrated foods (foods that have low water content) at the same meal. Concentrated foods are pretty much anything besides fresh fruits and vegetables.

Different foods require different digestive juices and enzymes. For example, carbohydrates require alkaline digestive juices, while proteins require highly acidic juices. When you eat proteins and carbohydrates at the same meal, alkaline and acid neutralize each other and neither gets digested properly. Food just stays in the stomach for hours. The ever-present bacteria putrefy it and create more toxins and pollutants. As a choice, you can replace one concentrated food with salad or steamed/stir-fried vegetables.

Fruits should always be eaten alone as they move through the stomach very quickly. If you eat them after concentrated foods, fruits can’t move through the stomach, they just stay there and ferment rapidly.

Eat Yoghurt

The probiotic bacteria in yogurt are very important for healthy skin because they improve the immune system and kill bacteria that cause acne and other skin problems. But make sure the yogurt is made of organic milk and is pasteurized before the probiotic bacteria is cultivated. Ask your local health store for recommendations.

Green Smoothies
Green smoothies are fruit smoothies with some green, leafy vegetables blended in. They are loaded with antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and other micro-nutrients that your skin requires to be healthy and look young. Always use at least 60% fruits and it taste as good as fruit smoothies do. Here’s a combination you can try: bananas, frozen blueberries and spinach or kale with little water.

And here are some other things you can do:

- You might use medicated concealer stick, apply it just on a zit or two as it flares up.

- Use oil-free make-up.

- Always wash your hands before applying make-up.

- Always remove make-up at night.

- Don’t wash your face excessively. Twice a day with a mild soap is enough. Tea-tree oil washes may also help.

- If your skin is dry, use a non-oily moisturizer.

- A little dab of pure tea-tree oil will help to heal a squeezed pimple.

By eating and living healthy you begin to correct the imbalances and your skin regains the healthy, beautiful glow.
