I love dark things that are easy to set up and it sounds like the ticket, but I just wanted to see if anyone had any reports on this before I fork out my hard earned bucks . It sounds like tinted moisturizer, which I like, and I am a bit bored of my cheapy stuff . let me know if you have . thanx tried!

Reply:guy,
Rimmels lip vinyl in "cosmic". Cheap and very very shiny. Available at Walmart.

Reply:You may want to ask for a sampl of the Cliniqu Pore Minimizer. I can't wear make up anymore because of another condition, but I do keep the bottle around for touching up a blemish. It conceals and drys it up at the same time. Also it is water based and contains no oil. Worth a try. About $15 a bottle, but worth it in my opinion.
Fortunately for me, the tazorac and jojoba oil and cp serum must be working together to give me some color and my breakouts are minimal lately due to the yasmin.
But my lips are always dry looking and yet I like lipstick. But that is drying too, no matter if its moisturizing or not.

Anyone know of a good lip GLOSS???

Thanks
L

Reply:Guys I just wanted to say thanks for the advice! I might give it a try- even if it doesnt cover the red marks too well I dont mind as long as it makes them lighter. I guess that way if some unlucky mug was to see me without it on it wouldnt be such a hideous shock?? Thks guys =)

Reply:I've been using Almost Make-up for over 2 years now. It covers up zits well. As for red marks, not so much. I mean, it covers them up, but obviously there are more matted/thicker make-ups that would do a better job. I don't really mind if people see my marks though; with the make-up they look lighter than usual (and as time goes by they fade…) I just like it because it isn't thick and doesn't look obvious.

Take care!

Reply:ncs thanks heaps for replying, it's so good to get an idea of what something's like before you waste your money on it- or worse before you have to approach the dept store beauty counters and get hassled by those "glamour chicks" lol. My skin isnt too bad these days, only a couple of zits, but it's mainly the red marks I try and hide. If you're still out there do you reckon the product would be enough to cover the pesky flat red marks?
Thx again!

Hi,

I recently started Proactiv again . so far so good, but I note that the oil is not all my makeup off. When I use the toner, the cotton ends with a ton of makeup. I use Neutrogena Healthy Skin, not an overly heavy makeup. I would not be too hard to scrub with detergent, because it is a bit harsh. Any suggestions?

Reply:guy- I noticed the same thing, that my cotton ball had a lot of makeup on it (and i really only use cover up and some light powder for my t-zone, i'm not talking about full foundation makeup) so i started using clearasil face pads before i wash my face and i found that it helps. But if you have really sensitive skin don't use it because it is also an acne fighter so it will make your skin redder- which by the way, the redness should go away form proactiv soon- i reacted the same way for the first week. let me know if this helps

Reply:When I used ProActiv it took a while for my face to get used to it. I was slightly red in the beginning but it didn't take long for my face to begin healing. I got compliments a few weeks into use. It was great.

I would use a make up remover to remove make up first before washing. Just a suggestion.

Reply:Another question while I'm at it is did anyone have redness when they first started Proactiv? Does it go away? My skin is looking pretty smooth but it sort of looks like I have a mild sunburn…just wondering if it'll be temporary as my skin gets used to the various ingredients…

So Im only in my second week of Accutane, and I have three questions for Accutane users. My first question is, do I read messages from others about how people blackheads accutanes kinda just “go away”, so they often just come to the surface and leave? or you do pop them?

My second question is this, this is pretty much focused on the girls, I think I wear makeup every day, so why do I have to wash my face twice a day (morning and night), but I do not for example wear makeup today and I washed my face for the first time today about 5, and Im not going to set up to do today, so that means I do not have to wash my face tonight? or will I break? I mean, I would rather not have to wash my face again mainly because I think it will just make me dryer. I think, for me not really seem necessary, because Im not put on an antibiotic or anythign else on my face after I wash my face. But Im afraid if I did not wash, I will break out.
Im regret that my second question was so poorly written and dragged out – so I think Im just asking, girls, on days that you do not wear makeup do you wash your face twice a day?

And Finally, smoking pot (once!) Accutane effect on your treatment and you break? or do I stop accutane influences? or display in yoru blood work?

Thanks so much in advance. I would like advice I can get. And as soon as possible. Thank you.

Learn How to Apply Makeup
Reply:i smoked a joint yesterday on accutane and it didnt negatively affect me at all. helped with the back ache actually. however, i drank only 2 pints of cider when i first started it and felt absolutely awful so am not drinking at all throughout the duration of my medication.

also, as i understand it traces of weed only show up when doctors are specifically looking for it. it wont show up for the types of tests they are doing (like i saym, this is how i understand it). second, they wont do anything about it anyway even if it does show up so don't fret.

Hollywood Makeup Secrets Exposed
Reply:well thanks. i think that you shouldn't mess with blackheads while your on accutane, cause it makes them look like huge holes. hmm. thats hot.
anyways, thanks everyone.
and i really hope that smoking pot doesn't show up in your bloodwork. its only this once. and i stopped drinking for my treatment. so. anyways.
anymore advice would be wonderful. thanksssssssss

Beauty Ebooks from a Celebrity Makeup Artist
Reply:I would be very careful with what kind of things you put in your body. You can probably do it with no break-outs, but it might do weird things to your blood work. You don't want to have to go for all sorts of tests because of pot. Definitely be careful….

As far as the make-up thing and washing. I only wash my face once a day, and I use a toner for the rest of the time. See what works for you. If you have dry skin, don't over wash. Just wash your face when you think you need to. Also, using a mositurizer might help for the days you need to wash twice a day. Good Luck!

University of Makeup – Latest Makeup Video Courses
Reply:alright. thanks. that helped kinda. ha

How To Make & Apply Awesome Latex Prosthetics Without Using A Lifecast
Reply:I dont have persone experience, but my friend was on accutane, and we smoked some pot and he was fine. So I'm pretty sure you can smoke while on accutane. Not positive though.

Reply:I don't wear make-up because I am a guy, but yes you should use soap I would think. There is this great soap I just got its called BASIS, I got it at this place called beauty land there cheaper with acne stuff etc… I went in there to see about some grease for my hair and then i looked at the soaps they had. They are sold individually, I got the clear bar which is good for acne called clean all over something lol, its clear it is making me get the couple pimples go away that stuff is great and I also got the red bar with the vitamins if you have a BeautyLand or something look for it there, the clear bar is for acne the other is for smooth skin and its good for the skin.

I just wanted to know if you have brown, even if you are a little powder / foundation on your face? I kinda noticed that when I have makeup on I dont tan as quickly, or I do not tan at all. Or maybe its just me imagining it happening.

Does this happen to someone else? you can still tan with a little makeup on your face?

Reply:I tottally agree with chiklet there…ew….why would you wear it anyways….it gets all icky and clogs your pores, and if you're going to were foundation and powder, then you might as well mnot get a tan, beucase your foundation will cover it.

——————
luv y'all,
~liz~

Reply:wouldnt it melt off anyway, lying in the sun.
and it would all get into your pores when u sweat
sounds like a bad idea to me.

Reply:Depends on how many layers of gunk you put on your face. My makeup is usually fairly light where my skin still shows through, so I'd probably end up getting a tan, but when you pile it one, maybe it would be harder for your skin to soak up the rays.

Reply:My sister tans all the time with face makeup on, she says it's still the same as if you didn't have any on. No difference.

Reply:I wear a foundation with an SPF of 15 – which, surprisingly enough, guards my fair skin well against the sun. But if I wear just powder or something with no SPF – I get burned.

Check your makeup. If it has an SPF, that's why you're not tanning.

I got a few red spots on my chest and face. They are not at all bumpy. Some of them were before tho pimples and now they are just plain red flags. What are they and how can I get rid of them? my face looks fine with a little makeup, but I do not like using them.

Reply:Can't I just drink 27 glasses of water a day?

Well two things, firstly if you think drinking 27 glasses of water a day is easier than eating healthy food then be my guest. But I highly doubt you will be able to manage it. Secondly, even if you drank 1000 glasses of water a day it will not make any difference to your acne/redness. Don't listen to those ridiculous models in magazines they drink lots of water day to keep their skin looking so perfect. Water does not make your skin perfect! Water is one of the most important elements to a person's diet to ensure they remain healthy. If you drink around 8 glasses a day your body will be happy as it contributes to your body's cleaning process and helps it maintain it's efficiency. But it does NOT mean you will have clear skin.

By drinking as much water as you suggested you run the serious risk of damaging your internal organs especially your kidneys. People who take ectsasy overload on their water intake as they become so dehydrated and who risk death as so much water goes to their head. Obviously there is little chance the same will happen with you if drink 27/day because I assume you will drink over the space of a day and not all in one go.

What is your diet like, you never mentioned it?

If anyone knows of any topicals/creams that even out skin texture and discolourations I would be glad to hear their recommendations.

P.S. oh yeh Jooon also I would love to know how you will cope going to the toilet 27 times a day?

Reply:<quote>-Have at least 3 meals a week that contain fish(salmon, mackrel & tuna=great),
-Eat almonds and walnuts as well as any other healthy nuts (not cashew/pistaccios!) maybe 10 nuts at lunch and 10 in evening everyday
-But lower your carbohydrate intake with regards to pasta, rice, potatoes etc. (these cause me to have red marks). If you want to have a 250g or > of pasta then try and do exercise afterwards.</quote>

These 3 might be hard. I'm not a big fan of fish. I do like peanuts but i dunno if that counts and that 250 g thing sounds complicated. Can't I just drink 27 glasses of water a day?

Reply:what if i have oily skin?can i still wash with water only?

I also have quite oily skin but still wash my face with just water in the evening. In the morning I wash with a little Salicylic acid to clean the pores then I apply some Neutrogena Clear Pore Moisturiser with Minerals & Fruit Extracts lotion (I can't remember the name exactly sorry). The moisturiser greatly reduces the amount of oil that can build up during the day. If I don't use it, at the end of the day my face is pretty shiny/oily.

Reply:Hey Jooon, I know what you are talking about as I sometimes experience these red marks. They are a form of acne and occasionally form whiteheads but most of the time they just remain red and cause your complexion to look discoloured and patchy. It's inflammation of the skin and if you ask any derm how to treat it I'm sure they will immediately refer you to the same treatment as to someone who suffers from spots/whiteheads/blackheads. The treatment being the dreaded antibiotics which only work for short periods of time until the body has built up it's resistance. And also a/bs solve one short term problem but most likely create 2 or 3 long term problems e.g liver/kidney damage especially if taking ACCUTANE (this only occurs when taking a/bs for v.long periods of time).

I don't use antibiotics any more, it's just not worth it. I think the only way to solve your problem is to look at your diet, lifestyle and well-being. I know I know boring boring it won't do anything but trust me it will if you are willing to try. When I get red marks on my face it is usually due to something I have eaten or drunk (see my other post on alcohol). If I don't drink alcohol my skin is fine or near to being fine.

This is my advice to you:

-Have at least 3 meals a week that contain fish(salmon, mackrel & tuna=great),
-Eat almonds and walnuts as well as any other healthy nuts (not cashew/pistaccios!) maybe 10 nuts at lunch and 10 in evening everyday
-But lower your carbohydrate intake with regards to pasta, rice, potatoes etc. (these cause me to have red marks). If you want to have a 250g or > of pasta then try and do exercise afterwards.
-Don't use more than one topical cream on your face each day
-Wash face twice a day: once in morning with just water (or low anti bac.%)
and once in evening with whatever you think cleans your skin/pores. Wash gently, NO scrubbing.
-Exercise
-Steam your face once a week if you want
-Try and get some sunlight eachday aswell (maybe 10-20mins)
-Eat fastfood, sweets, chocs etc. ONLY a few times a month
-Oh and try not to drink alcohol (lol)

Ok this may seem like a long list and you may be thinking that there is noway it will improve your skin but it has improved my skin considerably. I'm not saying you should suddenly do all these things tomorrow. OF course not! That would be crazy. Your body prob. wouldn't be able to cope if it isn't used to it. Just gradually introduce things and in time your skin will be overall more clear. I do hope this helps you in some way or at least it may point you in the right direction….take it easy, let me know how it goes
