Queen Helene Mint Masque Burns? [queen helene] [clogged pores]

I use Queen Helenes every so often when I feel my skin needs it, but I think it has done something wrong. I washed my face with warm water (Im really big clogged pores) so I gently squeezed the white stuff that is always in my pores. Then I pat dry and put my face on Queen Helene, now its burning the heck out of my pores, might be inside?

I wonder if those of you who use Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask found that “attracts” stains, or that goes away with multiple applications. What I mean is that I have been using once a week and it tends to bring out blemishes. These blemishes would eventually come out or did they cause the mask? Also, if I some times I use it in one week will eventually lead to a reduction in the number of spots? I appreciate any info. you can share!

Reply:There are a lot of them you can find OTC, and health food stores have some excellent ones you mix yourself. I like those best.

Reply:I can't use this mask on my entire face. It is way too harsh for my skin. But, as a spot-treatment only on pimples, it is fabulous. I leave it on in little spots overnight, and by the next morning, whatever spots I have are greatly reduced!

I just came back from a trip to the United States (Target) I was looking to buy Queen Helene Mint Mask everyone raves about, but I could not find it. Instead, I found this product called Acne Free, 2% hydroquinone and a kind of peptide that is supposed to fade red marks and scars mark Pock improvement. They also have a blemish treatment cream that both benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid and is supposed to blackheads and pimples away to be killed at night has. Anyway, I bought them both and are hopeful that this stuff will do something, because I Repair Cream dotted scars on my last night and this morning and do notice a difference, although not remarkable, because it would be to take time. The pimple cream slathered me on my ass last night (there is a problem) and I did wake up with a smooth ass, lol.

I did a study this morning about this product and it looks promising . Has anyone ever heard of or tried this stuff?

Reply:I use Acne Free Scar Treatment.. a two step process. The first "lotion" you use is suppose to prevent break outs, the second is to fade red marks. I've been using it for about 2-3 months now and have defintely noticed an improvement.

It hasn't totally rid my skin of the red marks.. but some of the scarring is years old! But they have defintely faded. I only ever really had a problem with breakouts during pms. Those have lessened. The decrease in breakouts could also be because of the birth control I'm on (Yasmin) and also the amount of water I drink through out the day.

Either way though, I've defintely seen improvements in my skin with this product.

Reply:Hi I brought something called AcneFree clear skin treatments it's suppose to be a acne and blackhead terminator I've been using it for three days and so far the only thing it has done is dried out the pimple just a little bit and left a big black ring around it. I'm praying that it starts to work because my bday is four days away and I want to go out and have fun, but if it don't work I probably be stuck in the house hiding from everyone depressed about my looks.

Reply:I don't use the scar cream. BUT I do use the face wash, toner, and acne lotion. I've never had bad acne but do get a few pimples now and then, my face is pretty much perfect now good product!

Reply:if you are using BP, then dont do too much with QH or you will really dry out and the problem might get exacerbated. Little bumps will probably go away, but sometimes the more stuff you put on small bumps, they become much larger and inflamed. Gotta be careful with that.

Reply:I use just a basic cleanser (I've been using different types lately — cetaphil gentle cleanser and aveeno oatmeal bar), sometimes just water itself. Then, after my face is dry I apply Benzoyl Peroxide to some of the areas it tends to keep clear for me.

I'm really hoping that the little bumps are only temporary, because this masque seems to really deep clean. I love it.

Reply:I've applied the product to my entire face every night for the last 3 months. I sleep with it on and dont wash it off until the next morning. I've never had any problem with dryness. Most people probably wont have problems with dryness if they moisturize after a shower and if they dont use so many products at one time. Benzoyl Peroxide is really the only major over the counter drug that can dry people out regardless of moisturizing. What other products do you use?

A while back I found the Queen Helene Natural Face Scrub . (Not the mask). I LOVED . I deleted over time. Well, I ran so I buy some more and found that they no longer wear. Strange? Why? It worked for me so of course I was angry. Well, nothing I can do about it eventually got over it. Now, my face was really bad weather and of course my routine is not working. My question is does anyone know where I might find?

I tried the Queen Helene mint mask b4 u0026 it felt nice, but I do not think they have something else besides that.
however 4 me, my mother said she accidentally thrown away when she cleaned my room u0026 i havent bought more since it didnt really something 4 me but id like 2 try another kind

my nose and forehead get really oily during the day im sure u0026 weekly couldnt mask pain, so I looked around and found this place called mountainherbroses.com u0026 they hav two masks that I really, fullers earth clay and French green clay

Reply:Cool; i've heard about a milk of magnesia mask before too.. I'm not sure if I have any lying around but I'll check.

So what's a peel-off mask? I've never heard of them before xcept for that one neutrogena peel-off mask commercial.

QH's mint mask really resembles french green clay, not just that it's bright green as french clay should be but how it looks & probably feels.
I've thought about using a mud mask rather than clay but apparently the french clay really sucks up the oil & that's really what I need but if I have some milk of magnesia I'll try that first.

Reply:For oil try a milk of magnesia mask. Just buy some plain milk of magnesia and put it on the oily areas w/ a cotton ball, it hardens and becomes a "mask". My sister did this once as an experiment and didnt have any oil for a few days.

Reply:I've found that peel-off masks work better than the wipe-off masks (like queen helene). I've had better results from peel-off masks, and they make my skin feel cleaner and smoother than the other kind.

Reply:I've use several masks before including French clay (at least I think so, it's hard to keep them all straight), but they haven't really worked for me. My sister has had them help, but I really didn't notice any difference. Hopefully, they will work for you.

I did this and used it a few times, but it really dries my face to the point where it makes the red and start flaking. Has anyone else this problem?

Reply:Update on the mint julep mask since my last post:

I am really beginning to like this product. I have been getting good results using it every two or three days. I leave it on for about l5 min. and then wash it off. At first, my skin resisted it, but after about the third time, the irritating effects disappeared. I like the way it tightens my pores and I think it does help eliminate breakouts. A few blackheads have come out after using this, but my pores have been plugged for so long it will take months of intensive efforts to get them all to surface and stop filling up again. I think the jojoba oil is helping all this along too, and helps balance the ph of my skin, despite some additional oil.

I also have a nice rosy glow to my skin now. The glow is more in my cheeks and not just red all over and blotchy. I actually look much better without makeup now.

Reply:i use this product every other day. The green mask smells kind of minty! I really love this product helps a lot for me! I notice my skin is a little dry after so i moisterize but not really a big deal!

Reply:I have an oily nose by everywhere else on my face is dry. And yep, I used the Mint Julep mask… but I guess I can continue to use it just as a spot treatment.

Reply:Which Queen Helene's product line did you buy? In Sally Beauty Supply, I saw another type of scrub/cleanser, but went with the Mint Julep. If you have dry skin, I wouldn't recommend that you use the Mint Julep, as it is made to dry out pimples. I love my Queen Helene's.. it's probably just not for your skin type. Take a look at their Cocoa butter cleanser. (I think that's what it was?) Maybe that will be better for you..

Reply:My skin is oily, so drying it out wasn't the problem. I did have redness and swelling however. I'm almost afraid to try it again. I think I may have been allergic to it.
