Yesterday my face was 99% clear and I was really confident. If the idiot I am I thought I could return to normal and some chocolate and a bottle of fizzy drink and bang this morning I have two medium-sized red spots and two other whiteheads. Really angry. So many times in the past I tried to Denie that chocolate in any way could contribute to acne, but Ive proven to myself. Im good to stay away from it. Walked into work today with my head down and I can already feel people looking at me like he did now whats his face as he started to clear yesterday. Im sick of feeling this way. I just want it to stop.
Reply:well for me its a little different….i can get away with eating a few bars here and there, but if i overdo it, then ill break out…so i guess im one of the lucky ones
Reply:I've found that whenever I eat really sugary food or drinks i.e. coke, ice cream, milkshake or chocolate I get this tingling feeling across my face and almost immediately I notice new spots appearing and my skin looks like crap.
Reply:Most dermatologists say that chocolate and colas do not contribute to acne. In fact, for most people, they obviously do not. But, for people with acne prone skin, I believe that chocolate and Coke represent two potential catalysts for the formation of new pimples:

1) Chocolate contains heavy fats – usually milk fat or cocoa butter; and
2) Soda contains a lot of refined sugars.

Many people on this board have noticed a correlation between their ingestion of fats/sugars and the formation of new spots.

Keep in mind, in any case, that whether there is a direct correlation between chocolate/ and acne, you may, nonetheless, be senstive to those products in such a way as to cause your skin to break out.

Reply:I stopped srinking soda about 10 months ago, but not because of acne. Its just plain unhealthy. Drink water instead, you'll learn to like it. And I dont even crave soda anymore now that I haven't had it in so long.

Presently, Im on minocycline 100 mg twice daily]]> I have 8 treatments on my face and see that after treatment, I have a bad outbreak of whiteheads have about 1-2 weeks later. I know it is related to the laser treatments, but Im so close to 100% I do not want my hair removal laser treatments to stop. Im having a hard time releasing this white heads up. I will be around 10 to 20 whiteheads along my jawline and on my neck and some of the Whitehead cystic become painful.

Presently, Im on minocycline 100 mg twice daily, and duac cream (which I think is a waste of money if nothing), but the breakouts continue. Ive twice daily cleaning with a cleansing gel and use Clinique Clinique makeup products. When I clear the first 15-20 whiteheads, 10 more replaced. This is a problem 2 years – no acne as a teenager. I have a 90 lbs weight loss with diet and exercise, but other than that, life is status quo for me. I am currently 38 years old and female.

Has anyone else had laser treatments for acne and this problem? If so, what have you used successfully? Thanks for any info you can offer!

Reply:Also, my diet consists of low fat, 1500 calorie, balanced food groups and high fiber.

Reply:Thanks for the advice. I just used that moisturizer for three days while I was visiting a friend. I will definitely not use it any more! I'm hoping that is what the bumps are from and my pores really are just temporarily clogged. It's such a weird thing though. Just hundreds of tiny bumps that are hard to see except in certain lighting, but are easy to feel. Weird.
Reply:Try using just a tiny tiny bit, or stop using it altogether. I wouldn't think aloe would be a great thing to put on your face. It's a little greasy, and is probably clogging your pores. I know it makes your skin smooth, maybe you should just use it on areas you really need it? Good luck! :)
Reply:I think I may be experiencing this problem also. I had perfectly clear skin (no acne) until three days ago. Now I seem to have little bumps all over my face. I used a friend's aloe face moisturizer when I was staying at her place this past weekend. I'm wondering if that is what caused it. Have you figured anything out? These bumps are hard to see, but easy to feel. All over my face. Does this sound familiar? Thanks.
