It finally happened. I have my derm to me to prescribe Accutane. He told me that I twisted his arm, but it must have worked. I was placed on 80 mg per day. He gave me some creams, but I do not even know what they! He gave me a tube of RoBathol, bath oil or something and a bottle of Locoid Lipocream. But anyways what are some things to look out for while on this drug? I just finished my first pill an hour ago. How many times a day do you clean? Do you use cetaphil? That is what he gave me. He said drying is a major reason for people from the road. All I want is clear skin. Thanks for the advice! Hopefully it works.

Im taking accutane as well. Started with 40mg now at 60. My doc keeps a very close eye on me. This is my 3rd month 2nd on the 60 dose. My tryglicerides actually declined which is ok and my cholesterol raised going on my 3rd month. She told me if my cholesterol stays the same or drops she will raise my dose next month. It is high at 222, up from 178. Other side effects I have experienced are dry eyes I have lasik so doesn’t really neither me. dry face at first, itchy scalp, extremely dry lips, rash on hands that’s what the locoid lipocream is for. I just wash my face at night with aveeno gentle cleanser. I also apply the aveeno night cream it helps lighten the scars even though it doesn’t say that’s what it does. I use aveeno day cream with a spf in it and the under eye cream. I haven’t gotten a great deal better but she said at this point they just check to see that it hasn’t got worse. She also recommended aveeno shampoo and conditioner for scalp. I use dove at the moment but the itchiness has stopped. Email me if u have other questions alynn9387@yahoo.com
