Im washing my face with St. Ives Apricot Scrub, and then I used Carleys clear and smooth treatment once a day. Im already pretty good results so far. A few breakouts here and there, but as long as I do not mess with them, they seem to go away soon.
Just thought Id share that with you.
Reply:I had used the St. Ive's Medicated Apricot Scrub for quite a while, but my face seemed to get worse from it. I think I was actually doing my skin more harm then good – I guess it just didn't work on my kind of skin.
For the past few months, my skin has actually been behaving really well – the best in about 2 years. For what it's worth, here's what my routine is:
- I wash every morning w/ Avon's Clearskin Purifying Gel cleanser (2% salicylic acid).
- Moisturize with Oil of Olay's Active Hydrating Fluid if needed.
- (Apply my makeup)
- At night, I rinse my face well with lukewarm water and gently wash with Avon's Clearskin scrub (with man-made beads, so they shouldn't abrade the skin). It is also antibacterial. I use the scrub because it also helps to clean off my makeup really well.
- I use Stridex pads (which contain no alcohol) to remove any traces of makeup.
- Moisturize with Oil of Olay if needed.
- Minimally spot treat with Clearasil.
I also use Queen Helene's Mint Julep mask about 3 times a week. It really helps when I use it consistently!
I have pretty oily skin, so I don't know how well this would work for everyone. It may seem like quite a few products, but I have found success with it (at least for a while, fingers crossed). I really only seem to break out at that special time of the month.
Good luck everyone! ![]()
Reply:I had been using the apricot scrub until I went to my dr she told me that it cause little microscopi cuts that let in more bacteria, that a wash cloth is all the exfoliation I needed. I know the apricot always made me skin feel smoother. But never helped with breakouts.
