What are your experiences with azelex? Is the same as Finacea (azeliac acid) gel? [finacea] [azelex]

I decided not to get differin. Ive heard good things about azelex of this forum and wanted to get it. I called my derm Dr. and spelled the name (azelex) and when I went to pick him said Finacea (azeliac acid) gel15%. Is the same the same?

Reply:Wow, $94? It's totally not worth it!!! Have you tried benzoyl peroxide and/or salicylic acid??

Reply:Hi. Yea I did a search last night and am pretty sure they were the same thing. I wanted to wait to hear from someone first before I tried it be/c I don't have insurance and it cost me $94. So I didn't want to open and then someone tell me that it's not the same thing. I'm glad your stuff is working for you!! Good Luck!

Reply:I requested Azelex and was given Finacea as well!! I havent' really used it yet, because the other things I'm using seem to be working for the time being (knocking on wood!) but I'm assuming that they are more or less the same thing.
