Hi guys .
I am not sure if anyone remembers me. I posted back in February. I used my first dose of Retin-A Micro 0.4% and completely out of my face peel and it was all red and blotchy. I was not only angry, but my dermatologist was on vacation that weekend and I had a date! Bah, it was terrible. Eventually it cleared up a bit, although I still have the canceled date. Anyways, my skin looked good for about a month and half . Then lately, Ive got all those little pimples on my forehead, and a few more sprouted on my chin. They look terrible. I swore never to use Retin-A Micro, after the horrible reaction I had after one dose. But I am desperate. Now, I know it is said not spot treat zits with Retin-A Micro, but it would be terrible for a chance to take some on my forehead? I do not . but I dont know.
Is it over the counter acne wash that would be clear on this? I heard about some of the Neutrogena 8 hours that was supposedly the size and redness of pimples reduced in 8 hours. Who knows. I use Cetaphil, and although I like it, it doesnt seem too much to prevent new pimples.
Reply:hey!
what i can advise u is to try avene cleanance- best 'soap' on the market according to me! but dont use it often- once daily is great! remember regular cleaning makes ur skin respond by producing grease, which we dont want!!
and i think u could try that retin-a again- it is a very good cream- u can always try using it just in very small quantities and just on a couple of pimples to see if it works first…

Is there any GOOD over the counter acne wash that would clear this up? I heard about some Neutrogena 8 Hour wash that supposedly reduces the size and redness of zits in 8 hours. Who knows. I use Cetaphil, and although I like it, it doesnt seem to do much to prevent new breakouts.
I always used to be concerned with topicals and face washes too. And this was like only 2 months ago. You see, I had really bad acne on my face (moderate to severe) and now I have it very mild (except these stupid red marks all over my face, which I'm taking care of). I decided to try taking care of it at it's source, inside my body. I got clearer in about a month by taking antibiotics, spironolactone and saw palmetto. Now, I am noticing that it doesn't even matter what soap I use, or even if I wash my face at all. My boyfriend can now touch my face without me freaking out. My face doesn't hurt anymore, I don't have to wear as much makeup as I used to, etc. If I get a zit it's tiny and dries up nearly overnight. It's absolutely amazing and I pray it lasts. I tried all that retin-a stuff too and absolutely hated it. I heard micro was better, but I didn't want to take the chance.
I would suggest talking to a doctor about these options. It worked for me, but maybe not for everyone. Mine was primarily hormonal. Now, the face washes don't matter anymore.
