Pleast advise me on what soaps, creams, lotions, etc. that works for oily skin reduction. I hate oily skin and pimples caused . what works best?
Reply:astringent has an alcohol on it i will overdry your skin leading to more oil so please avoid product with alcohol.
Reply:Clean and Clear astringent is good for getting rid of oil
Reply:I'm taking a supplement called Vitex also known as chaste berry it has reduced my oiliness really well. you get it at gnc. I'm also drinking Dandelion tea- I read in a book not only does it cleanse your liver it balances the androgens the hormones responsible for oil and acne. give it a shot, just be consistent with them. Oh yeah I also take burdock root capsules, it's a detox herb too, works well in conj. with dandelion.good luc and DON'T overwash your skin you'll just produce more oil.
Reply:Vitamin A supplements also help to reduce the oil. Some things that I have used on my face that have helped my skin to not look so shiny are oil blotters. I buy the ones from Mary Kay because they are bigger than the ones at the Body Shop or the ones like they have at the drug store. Another thing that also helps my face is Mary Kay's Oil Mattefier. You can even wear it with makeup or without it. I know some other brands sell similar products. You may want to look online or go to a local dept. store if you don't have a Mary Kay consultant and find out what other brands have to offer. But these things work for me. BTW, I haven't taken my supplements in a long time but when I did I took B5 and Vit. A and a bunch of other things and my skin was a lot less oily. I stopped because was afraid I was taking too much.
Reply:i have very oily skin. For me, it is best to wash twice a day, don't over wash, you will have more oil. Use a moisturizing bar cleanser, they keep my face fresher longer. Like Dove or Kiss My Face Olive oil Soap. I am trying Neutrogena facial bar. I don't really like it, i think it gives me more oil. And it dries my face to much.DO NOT USE TONERS!! Your skin might feel clean for an hour or so. But it gives you more oil in the long run. And drink alot of water. Hope this helps.
