Where can I purchase BHA? [olay regenerist serum] [bha]

I would like BHA and AHAs are trying too hard for my skin. Can someone please tell me where I can buy? I know Paulas Choice has a number, but I thought there might be an available over-the-counter. Also by a recent thread on this forum, I started using the Olay Rain Rist Serum – all I can say is great – it felt like silk to your skin and is very soft. Unlike many other products, it feels nice and refreshing to go to my very sensitive skin. My skin looks and feels good after only a few adys. I use SA 1.5% during the night by 2.5% to BP, then in the morning I was with purpose and use of the Rain Rist and my skin looks and feels great. But I would like to try a BHA instead of the SA, but I can not seem to find in stores. Everything I can find is AHA. Thanks!

Reply:Thank-you! I am going to try that from now on (only applying BP every other night) until my skin adjusts. I did go ahead and order the small size of Paula's Choice 1% BHA – I figure so many people have such good things to say about it – it's worth a try!

Reply:Salicylic acid is the only known Beta Hydroxy Acid. If anything, the SA is not what is irritating your skin–it's probably the BP. The problem is… people think skin irritation is always bad. And usually it is. But sometimes it can be a good thing. When you apply an AHA, it stings and feels like it is irritating the skin, when in fact it is having positive effects. I would say cut back the BP application to every other day. That might cut down on your irritation.

Reply:There are several OTC products that contain BHA, but I've never found one that has been nearly as effective as Paula's Choice BHAs. One reason is that PC doesn't contain any irritants or fillers, such as fragrances or alcohols or colorants. Another reason is that PC products are at the proper pH level to be effective. I'd much rather buy something on-line and have it really WORK, than to waste money on lots of products that might just cause MORE breakouts!

Reply:Salicyclic acid is actually a beta hydroxy acid, the one most commonly put in skincare products, so if that's what you mean when you refer to SA, you're already using a BHA. :)
