Reply:I took 8400mg.. ended aug 6th 2003. My acne so far is still gone. It was never cyctic.. but I still have small bumps on my face (hardly noticible) and lots of scars.. LOTS.. but so far I have no regrets.. just scared!!!
Reply:I've used Accutane 3 times. My acne has come back within 3 months EVERY time.
Reply:I first took Accutane in August of 1999. My skin remained clear for about 2 years, then my acne gradually came back. It got to its worst period in January of 2003. When I say worst, it is horrible. I remember the first time I took Accutane, I had a lot of acne, but nothing cystic. I did not scar either, just red marks. I did not have the initial breakout period either.
Now the second round is a whole lot different. On July 2003, I started Accutane again. My face is in terrible condition. I am on my third month now and I am still breaking out although it is not as bad during the first 2 months. I have many cystic acne and indented scars from it. Now I know some of you have asked me why the heck I went back on Accutane when I am just scarring. Well, the answer is simple, whether or not I take Accutane, I will be scarred. Accutane helps right now, although it is so slow.
To tell you the truth, I am starting to think that Accutane might have something to do with my horrible relapse. My derm does not think so, but I do. There is always something that will provoke a condition for someone. I am one of the small percentage, unfortunately.
I am very depressed about the outcome of my skin right now: scarred and more scarring to come.
But it will pass. One day.
